First off, I never said Callaghan was not successful in his original role. He was and as you said, when his pace started going, he was switched to midfield. The rest is history. As for Strong, he was an inside forward with Arsenal and his first game for Liverpool was at inside forward initially as well. He was pretty anonymous there at the start and Shanks switched him further back. Again, the rest is history. He played at the back as if he was in an armchair, he was that good. Lindsay joined us as an inside forward but didn't have the pace.
