It seems to me he never saw Joe Cole playing for West Ham. I would have thought it was pretty obvious what Cole's best position is. Especially after his spell with Chelski!

Just what planet are you living on? Have you looked at our away record lately? You think we have the 6th best squad in the league and I am telling you the figures don't lie. Our true position is probably around 14th and next season it will be the same or lower if the Hodge is still in charge. Of course, if he finds another three Paulsens then we can look forward to meeting Doncaster Rovers in 2-1/2 years time. We are already on our way to having the oldest average age squad in years as well.

It would help as well if he was played in the position he prefers. One reason why he left Chelski.

First off, I never said Callaghan was not successful in his original role. He was and as you said, when his pace started going, he was switched to midfield. The rest is history. As for Strong, he was an inside forward with Arsenal and his first game for Liverpool was at inside forward initially as well. He was pretty anonymous there at the start and Shanks switched him further back. Again, the rest is history. He played at the back as if he was in an armchair, he was that good. Lindsay joined us as an inside forward but didn't have the pace.

To me, it's crying out to try Johnson at left midfield for at least one game. In our halcyon days anyone who was bought for one position and didn't make it their own, they tried them in another position to great success. There was Geoff Strong, Ray Kennedy, Ian Callaghan later on, and even Alec Lindsay. I am citing events over 20 years ago I know but it is still pertinent today.

Sorry, but as far as I am concerned, what we saw last night was a repeat of part of the secondhalf against Chelski. We couldn't get the ball and when we did, two passes and back to the opposition. We were completely outplayed secondhalf against Wigan and on that performance we will be massacred against Stoke. And to those who think tiredness had something to do with it, we play Stoke at the weekend - you don't think we will be tired then???? And, of course, we will have just one striker. Memo to Hodgson. When the **"*&* are you going to play Meireles midfield instead of stuck on the wing????

Let's not forget at the same time that although he played well yesterday, Chelski were missing their big two - one of which is Essien..... It might well have been different if those two had been playing.
