Carroll is one for the future..he is only 23 BUT we paid a ton of money - hence the pressure ,if we had only paid half that price..people would definetly have more patience, but the way it is...he has to perform now, which is unfortunate for him

so far..has shown true qualities.. Still seems to have lapses in concentration and sometimes tries to be a bit fancy at the back when he should be getting rid....also seems to get in the way when going forward, has happened numerous times with downing and bellamy in the week......but hopefully that will soon dissapear afer settling in. Looks like being our best left back in over 20 years.

watched lucas closely today...was excellent , yes west brom arent all that..but the amount of times he picks up possession..always seems to be in the right spot. Such an intellegent player...constantly makes the right choices and normally when under pressure.. 1. lucas 2. suarez 3. agger

how can people critizise the henderson sub?..thought he did excellent when he came on...nearly scored 2 We made chances a plenty that last 15 minutes....suarez chance, skrtel, kuyt and the 2 of course for Henderson. Kenny definetly got it right i reckon by not changing anything else......any of those chances go in and kenny looks like a genius

Carras an interesting one, have i warmed to him...of course 100%...fantastic servant, loves the city,the club,etc...so yeah i love the guy and would never say anything bad about him.. BUT, has he been a massive reason why we havent won the title since hes been a regular first 11....possibly?!?. For me hes a great "cup" player..those one off games he steps up and can always be counted on,over an entire season he has struggled for me...his lack of quality when on the ball is a must..and carra`s distrubtion is..lets be honest..pub quality...combine this with the lack of pace, and no player can rely on those last ditch tackles,passion,etc over an entire season.. Carra has been a good player...with great matches.. would he be in my top 10 defenders to play for liverpool?? no......

with Gerrard coming back and hopefully doesnt suffer any more set backs, its time for us to have a steady line up with players who are ready now...its vital we push for a champions league spot, we cant spend the next 6-8 months trying to bed in players ie..henderson and especially carroll, carroll for one blatently needs more work done on the training field and should be used sparingly, for when he does start...he look lethargic and devoid of ideas and that isnt soley the fault of him. Im not even worried about our back 4, any 4 of johnson,kelly,coats,carra,agger,skrtel,enrique,flanno,robinson will be fine....as long as we show more ideas,ability and pace in the midfield and attack.. ------------------lucas--adam---------------- kuyt--------------gerrard----------downing- --------------------suarez-------------------- the above is how i would start the midfield and attack... With Carroll in the team , and we go to a straight 4-4-2 with us throwing hopeless balls into the box (well i say hopeless but some of the crossing has been good, just carroll has been too slow of the mark to react to them)

With us not being in europe, i think its gonna be a huge benefit for us come January...IF we can be still in the race, i reckon we have a fantastic chance...injuries are of course gonna be a massive factor we have to keep our important players fit...and i count agger as one of those, he really makes such a difference not just for being solid in defence, but in attack where we can push forward an extra 10 yards due to his pace...saying all of that, Man city look astonishingly good to me and with their squad i think they can cope with the extra games in europe, the scum however dont have a great squad. if they get a couple of injuries or players tired after the champs leagues games...they might struggle.. sooooo.. 1. man city 2. us 3. chelsea 4. man utd 5. a***

like a training match at times, very comfortable... Henderson excellent, suarez excellent...also lucas again showed how much improvement he has made...first name on the team sheet now.

After spending massive amounts of money, plus adding players to support and supply him with the kinda crosses he thrives on....we really do look a far better team with Carroll not in the side. Last season when yes we was injured, we looked awesome with a front 3 with either kuyt and maxi either side..when Carroll did appear we looked slow in attack with a lack of movement.....this season and again we look better with Suarez with kuyt ,henderson and downing assisting. Now yes early days still for Carroll but he doesnt look anywhere close to be being match fit. He came off the bench today and really was dissapointing, lack of movement..slow with the ball at feet and no real desire to get in on the end of some fantastic balls by Downing. Right now, hes gotta work harder on his fitness and slowly get him integrated into the side, theres definete talent there...he just has to buckle down and start working in training, cos my right now our best 11 doesnt include him.(at least in my opinion..obviously )

Honestly though we were excellent first half..... 2nd and we looled knackered... Flanno will be dissapointed, he had a terrible 2nd half,he'll learn from this though....just felt it was a strange decision by Kenny to start him ahead of Kelly Unless of course Kelly had a knock

i reckon it`ll be the team that started in the week....with possibly enrique in at left bk, or kelly right bk and johnson left.

thoughts - i still dont understand what henderson is?!?! he doesnt seem to have any pace..doesnt really get his foot stuck im, maybe for the future but i havent seen anything yet to suggest hes worth that money.. Shelvey - seems a class act to me, seriously reminds me of Gerrard...same running style,aggression, has a decent shot and good range of passing. Aqua - class act agger - class if only he`d stay fit downing - gonna be quality for us that first 11 tonight, very likely will be starting against sunderland, though id change johnson to left bk and kelly to right
