It's difficult to gauge how rattled they are, judging from saturday it's somewhere between 'very' and a weird unearthly screaming noise like when they open the ark in indiana jones. So, we do what we need to do, then if Villa do something mad like get the first goal... hmmm. Even if they batter Villa we'll be sound. Just as long as we've beaten Fulham.

not exactly a pearl of controversial wisdom at this stage.

instead of riera in a left sided kuytish role if we get someone nippy for the right. instead of alonso/masch/lucas, he's versatile enough to do a job in place of any of the 3; better than lucas, more creative than masch, better dead balls than xabi. i'm not particularly thinking about selling any of the players i've mentioned here, as KH says, it's a squad game. I would let lucas go if we got a good offer, there's nothing down for him unfortunately.

the only way of dealing with it is putting a world class holding midfielder on gerrard, then kicking the crap out of torres with both centre halfs. problems being a) there aren't that many class holding midfielders in the league and we've got one of them (essien is the other) and b) even if you do that, big game dirk will pop up when you least expect it.

I still don't think it's as cut and dried as you're all making out. Think there's enough games left for another twist even if we don't win all our remaining games. Who knows what's around the corner this season. Maybe United won't need to win all their games, maybe we won't, maybe we'll both stutter and Chelsea will pip us. My point is there's still time. 20 odd points still to play for after all. I'd be a lot more confident about winning all our games if we weren't still in the CL, it's a ballache at this stage tbh.
