I suppose so. I do tend to forget that the club held Riise in higher regard than I did. If i'd been Rafa i'd have been waiting patiently in line behind Bellamy, hefting my 9 iron.

Could put Bellamy or Crouch in this sentence instead of Eto'o. Not that they're anywhere near Eto'o's level, but we'd certainly have been better off hanging on to one or the other instead of getting the pasty faced windmill.

True. I've always been proud of the fact that we're a closed shop as far as the media goes, but it does damage us at times. Ironically enough it looks as though the media are going to be really supportive of this 20th anniversary, just as it becomes too late for any further legal action. Anne Williams' case was really the last legal avenue, and it looks as though she's been knocked back by Europe. -

Exactly. The club didn't support him enough, just as they have never said enough about what happened there in my opinion. -

Agree. It's only with some distance you begin to appreciate how much our club since then has been shaped by that day. Have you read the thing Kelly Dalglish wrote about her dad and Hillsborough? That really brings it home, part of him went that day, he changed, and he WAS the club, as much as anyone has ever been. -
Everton in the transfer window are hilarious. Their other trick is to wait until a player has agreed a fee of say £12m with another club, had a medical, and just before they are unveiled Everton will swoop in with a bid... of £8m.

He shouldn't have gone, we really need him (and all our assets) fit and firing for the next 13 games. I can understand why he went but it is still an annoyance. Maybe he'll be fine anyway, who knows.

Agger as sweeper? I'm never sure who should play the sweeper role in a 3-5-2, is it your most creative centre half or your least?

Agreed. Barry signing would be a very good indication that Rafa doesn't want Gerrard in midfield anymore.

Not sure about Eto'o myself. Not very tall, had some injuries and not the best of attitudes. Doesn't seem like a Liverpool player or a Rafa type player... That said we need a season's worth of strikers and I wouldn't turn my nose up at him.
