  1. perfect result. Extra time and another game for the gooners up north. Hopefully another replay with extra time. In addition, bolton can potentially close in on Arsenal in 4th...
  2. the club were offered money to change their kick off to Sunday afternoon for TV, and they said no thanks, our fans would prefer to see a 3pm kick off on Saturday.
  3. Frankly not much between them. I think if we sell one, (with lots of proviso's and add-ons) and keep the other, and buy an experienced under-study or keep the italian lad, that would work.
  4. he's ex manc, so it is our duty to never take to him fully. however, I agree, he has done a great job there. Also, kudos for quinn for turning down TV money for the fans.
  5. its to run it until we move to the new stadium, and tie in sponsorship with that maybe?
  6. with shirt sales, they belong to the shirt maker (ie now adidas) Also, the sponsor of the shirt will be pay not just on success, but on the number of shirts that can be sold. chelsea, the wancs, juve, real etc get great shirt sponsor deals because they sell shirts. Until we work with our distributors to increase shirt sales we won't match the wancs sponsor money. I would say that if we cannot arrange a big sponsor this season, to renew for another year with carlsberg and aim for next season. Also, prices of tickets reflect relative cost.
  7. exactly, the problem is where to play? I moved from england to australia, and wherever I go here, there are always parks, tennis courts, greens, golf courses. I had to drive 20 minutes to get a pitch in England. How many schools have sold off their fields? Teams should look to work closer with local schools as well as having a focussed academy. I do think though, that the extra money coming in next year a certain portion should be assigned to certain targets, at least the overseas money anyway. the clubs should agree that the money from overseas viewing (625million I think) should exclusively go on: Lower league acadamies lowering season tickets local awareness/charities/good deeds ground development Internal system development (ticketing, security, admin etc)
  8. people say what have done under moores. I think that in years to come, we would look back at the last 10 years with great pride. How many finals and trophies and highs have we had? Alaves UEFA cup final milan EC cup final west ham fa cup final arsenal fa cup final birmingham cup final are the ones I can think of, not to mention the many semi finals and big performances, and the exhibition trophies like super cups, charity shields etc. OK, we haven't won the title, but we have won everything else. we have always made money available to the manager and always supported the 'liverpool way'. David Moores, we salute you, a true fan living the dream.

    New ground

when we move to the new stadium, there will be a whole bunch of re-allocations so people can sit together, and the whole waiting list will be 'cleansed'. I would think this (the waiting list cleaned) would happen much before the stadium is ready as that would drive the number of season tickets. Standard sales and marketing would state that you have a waiting list. ask anyone who sells anything; you want a queue waiting to buy or 'pipeline'
  10. despite our success, we haven't capitalised on it, because we have been focussed on being a football club. However, reality suggests that we need to move forward. Has the sky era happened during our success, perhaps we would be in a different position now. we have a good base to grow our turnover now, so hopefully that will happen. as for higher priced tickets in london, they have a higher cost base there too though.
  11. United States of Anfield (USA!)
  12. I read it too, hence the signature...
  13. you guys, you forget old funguson is an expert on south american football. don't you remember they went there for a tourny mid season once? They also bought veron and kleberson, so he knows his stuff....
  14. I'll wait for the official liverpool cheerleaders, the liver-birds! :-)
  15. his net spend is not high by the way. also, they have a good squad of players, and should attract a decent manager I would think. who though?
  16. ironically, the platini plan will help break this, as 1 team will miss out on the CL each season. Also, we need to change the column on the right ASAP.
  17. the only way to fix this, is to have half time and full time reviews for diving, or 5th referee reviews for diving and then an immediate 5 match ban.
  18. owen = parker, cole, SWP. Good riddance to them all. Although, hope owen recovers soon. I'm recovering from a cruciate operation myself...
  19. maybe we can drop a line to nunez, Josemi or pongo?
  20. unless they are real fans, and are planning to buy them, take the money from the new TV deal in august, and then scarper.
  21. i see it like this back 5, then masc, xabi, pennant,gerrard,gonzo/bellers kuyt classic 4231
  22. relativity is nottingham forest have 2 European cups, everton have 0, therefore everton = tiny club. :-) I don't see what the problem is. didn't Parry say the same thing in 2005 before the CL 3rd round draw? something like 'there are a lot of big teams in the draw, and everton'. They are never going to win the title, qualify for the CL and will struggle qualify for the UEFA. They have been overtaken by bolton who spend less and portsmouth, newcastle, villa and west ham (if they stay up) will ensure the bitters don't invade the same space as other clubs.
  23. NO HENRY!!!! Yes he is a great player, but I don't want us to be a 'chelsea'. I'd rather buy the 'next henry'.
  24. who's going to win their penalties now?
  25. extra time for arsenal would be good. extra time against bolton, to go through on penalties, with another replay would be nice too.
