  1. Changing manager is now the most practical solution Can't just wait and see if it improves, can't just hope the players suddenly collectively regain belief and impetus
  2. This is where I'm at too, we need a reset... It might be harsh on Slot given the players form and Hughes/Edwards mistakes but that's the nature of the job It will have to be an interim manager cos nobody good enough will be available
  3. I agree but there's something going on with the players too, each problem feeding the other
  4. Our press doesn't seem coordinated, there's running and closing down but they're diving in like kids and getting played through way too easily
  5. Virgil was s***e too
  6. We played with intensity after their pen, ran hard, applied pressure and got the equaliser...why did we stop doing that? It really looks like the players are lost and want Slot gone, even subconsciously. There's no other explanation that makes any sense to me
  7. Even if he's not the the main problem it's still on the manager, that's the reality. Too many factors both in or out of his direct control are negative I think this is the post Klopp hangover we all expected, just a year and one league title later
  8. Ah right, my confirmation bias in full effect there
  9. I read a tweet somewhere last week quoting Luis Diaz saying he couldn't believe the space and time he is afforded in the Bundesliga compared to Premier league "It is a league that flatters attackers and exposes defenders, a league where world class players feel not challenged but unshackled. Luis Díaz expected a battle, instead he found space." Something we all know but interesting to hear a player state it like that...doubt Harry Kane would Found it: https://x.com/BayernSpace/status/1991140206955692043?t=t_ACsLlJYfMpVnf-ZopiPA&s=19
  10. That insta of the guy bopping him on the head multiple times is actually quite therapeutic
  11. The players seem lost, they don't know what to do, that's on the manager. The further away we get from a top 4 finish the closer he is to the sack. FSG will have a tipping point in mind. Yes there are mitigating factors, one in particular is heartbreaking and emotional, others more prosaic, but the reality is the manager will take the bullet for all of it when the bottom line is threatened
  12. I think a decent middle ground for the undecided is call for the immediate sacking of Van Bronckhorst... things have really gone to s***e since he turned up
  13. Trying to keep a logical head on me. The emotional me wants him gone because it's painful seeing this same s***show every week We don't know what kind of dynamic is going on between Slot, Edwards and Hughes as this unfolds. They're obviously meeting, talking and agreeing to Slot persisting with his method. But if we continue to haemorrhage more league points especially at home, in this manner, there just has to be a cut off point that will override the time frame they have in their heads for him to start looking like he can achieve his goal with this squad It doesn't help not knowing where the responsibility lies for our summer spending...on paper it's amazing but nobody can see how it works and it looks now like a mix of opportunism and arrogance There's also just the possiblity that it's just too early for Slot despite winning us the league. As someone pointed out earlier in the thread he's never faced a real crisis before, and this is the most unforgiving league in the world
  14. That Crash Test Dummies mmmm song
  15. Job done, I'd say it's in the bag for him Good process
  16. In a hypothetical situation where we haemorrhage more points and Slot is binned mid season it's not beyond the realms of possibility that FSG ask him to step in as caretaker until the summer when some of the heavyweights are more gettable. He's respected by the players and could at least consolidate the dressing room To be clear I don't rate Gerrard as a manager, I'm not calling for Slot to go (yet), and @Cobs I've no knowledge of his tax situation
  17. I think so too, players can do that subconsciously when confused or frustrated and it can look like they've downed tools...certainly explains some of our more sluggish performances lately If there was no upturn, the pressure became unbearable and FSG were forced to pull the trigger I could see them appointing an interim/caretaker like Kenny after Hodgson... and I could see that being Gerrard
  18. Absolutely. That is Klopps singular genius, and probably a big part of this depressing lull in form and belief is the players realising that
  19. Its hard to even see some green shoots of hope about how to make it work again...there's no back to basics approach, no sign of integrating Wirtz, Isak or Kerkez, no signs of belief, defiance or leadership from the senior players. They all just look lost
  20. I'm convinced Oliver will eventually have his own Coote style slip up moment
  21. There's a failure of vision that has to land on Slot. I get that he's more head coach than Klopps total control and command, that was the planned transition... but its not working. Not yet anyway. How many more league losses can Slot survive? And then who realisictally could step in mid season?..it would have to be a caretaker job, that's also very risky f*** this, I can't see a way out
  22. He'll end up player manager there
  23. Yeah I thought the same, why the f*** didn't we get a corner?, which we definitely would've scored from
  24. He was brilliant Like to see him now avoid injury, get a proper run of games and lock down RB for himself....develop his link up game with Salah. Frimpong is decent back up
  25. Great to see him getting back into form, he's a class player, so important for our control of games. Amazing for him to score the winner and get motm https://youtu.be/uB1D9wWxd2w?si=QVrJMXUIqVucVyAy
