Despite that, Jurgen used his squad effectively to cope with the number of matches (remember that mad line up he put out against Everton when we won 5-2?).
There absolutely are too many games, but when you're a CL club you just get on with it
Honestly I think most of the team deserve a fresh start under whoever comes in. There’s too many of them off their game at the moment so I think we need to see how they fit in under new systems before writing off completely
My take on it was that Robbo initiated the move ‘cos he’s not happy about his minutes in a World Cup year - and I don’t blame him if that’s the case. I’d be really surprised if the club was actively shopping him around
And Leoni was bought to replace Quansah, so he’s definitely part of the first team squad. Reckon he’d have played quite a bit if he’d not done his knee
Don’t really care if you want to include the 3rd goalie. Everyone’s got a kid or a cheap option there.
Alisson Mamardashvili Woodman
Robertson Kerkez
Bradley Frimpong
Van Dijk Gomez Konate Leoni
Gravenberch Mac Allister Wirtz Szoboszlai Jones Endo
Salah Gakpo Ekitike Isak Chiesa Ngumoha
You can argue about Ngumoha & Woodman if you want. Be surprised if anyone other than City and Chelsea have a bigger squad
As for the rotation, if you refuse to use the players outside your core group it’s not a surprise when they take a while to get up to speed after not playing for ages. Jurgen was excellent at using his squad to prevent that
