I mentioned Rio back at HG 'cos he's playing the same kind of fringe role in the first team as Elliott did last season - he wasn't in HG's list 'cos he's come from the Ressies as opposed to being bought. Harvey got less than 800 mins all year, mostly when the league was done. Rio's on track for about the same now that Arne seems to have remembered that he exists. If HG is going to include Elliott as a full member of last season's squad with those minutes, then including Rio in this season's is also fair. As for Morton (who you're trying to shoehorn into an argument, despite forgetting how to spell his name ) Our young player depth is definitely a bit s***e at the moment, but (unfortunately IMO) it doesn't really matter 'cos players like that didn't - and will seemingly never - get game time here under Slot in the same way that they did with Jurgen.

That's not a thing. The club gets to spend what the club earns - FSG have been pretty consistent about that since they've been here. There's also a huge credit line (£200m+ from what I remember) that we can use when we need it - as we did when we revamped the midfield in a season when we "only" had Europa League, we lost something like £80m that year from what I remember. The flip side to using that is that it needs to be paid back from future revenue.

It's the long term injuries to Isak and Leoni making the squad look unbalanced at the moment You've not included Ngumoha who will probably end up playing at least the same as Elliott (less than 800 mins last season, mostly after the league was done) - so numbers-wise we're even. Diaz and Trent wanted to leave. The other 5 (and I reluctantly include Diogo in that) all played less than 2k minutes last season, Slot hardly used them. So not only are the numbers the same, most of the squad *should* be players Slot is comfortable with using regularly.

Not sure why his name is relevant, we're talking about people that have managed Liverpool here.

For me I think it would be different if I could see any realistic prospect of things changing for the better - but I just can't. We shouldn't become the type of club that gives up on a manager after a few s*** results, but this is a sustained period of mediocre football that the manager doesn't seem to have any clue how to fix.
