  1. Joe Cole avaialble?
  2. would be the most sensible option if available
  3. How the f*** can anyone call gerrard a c*** is beyond me... he has been one of the best players of his generation, who chose as a fan the club s dimmed ambitons to his glorious personal ones.
  4. lfc history Hodgson likes to have pairs all over the field. Two centre-backs supporting each other, the left back supporting the left wing with the right back doing the same on the right, overlapping when a chance presents itself. Two central midfielders covering the defence as well as being catalysts for attacks and two up front, feeding off each other, often one larger centre with physical attributes paired with a quicker, more technical one. Roy is a training ground coach. He likes best to be in his tracksuit at, in this instance, Melwood, emphasising team shape, training routines with the players positioned from where the opponent is attacking, concentrating on how to win the ball from the opponent and attack from that point. Also a favourite routine of his is to split the squad into three teams where two of them keep the ball while one tries to catch it. "Pass and move, always move it quickly and once you lose it get back in to position. That was the mantra which took Liverpool through their great years. I was influenced by the Liverpool team which dominated the 70s with all its great players and playing the football they played." Players who have played for Hodgson, sometimes felt these shape routines were boring and repetitive, but when players saw them working on the field of play, they were quite pleased to suffer them. Simon Davies played under Hodgson at Fulham, so he should know a thing or two about Hodgson's training routines: "Every day is geared towards team shape – and it shows. We would have a little laugh about it now and again, but when he came to Fulham we were fighting relegation. His management style took us to a Europa League final, so you take it. I don’t want to give any secrets away, but he gets the 11 that he wants for a match and drills everything in that he wants. It’s defensive drills and certain attacking drills – with no diagrams. It’s all on the pitch with the ball."

kenwyne f***ing jones scored vs us in the dying minutes!
  6. I agree with this. We need some width and pace injected on our flanks...How the f*** can we attack if none of the midfileders bar Gerrard actually know how to beat a man.
  7. Yes at the moment, I would drop him. He is siuted to play in the middle. He is for now until he adapts to the pace of the premiership, too lightweight to serve a role in the middle of the park. If he plays alongside Gerrard in the middle and Gerrad goes into one of his surging effective runs, I dont think Raul can provide effective cover in the middle in those situations which would leave us open to counter attacks. If he s playing alongside Lucas and Gerrad upfront then I would play him. However it s either him or Kuyt. i prefer Kuyt at the moment, behind Torres and Johnson s pace down the wing and Gerrad driving the team and orchestrataing things. However Raul can be easily called upon and is a really good option to have on the bench

    Martin Kelly

He can deliver a good ball in the box as well. he really whips them in
  9. Yup that would be my first starting 11 with cole rotating with maxi and ngog coming on for kuyt when he having a mare.

    Martin Kelly

second that. Presently we do not have one player more siuted down the right flank as Johnson, because he can provide us with the desperate needed pace down the wing.
  11. To be fair Meireles on the rare occasions he played in the middle, looked a little bit of a light-weight. He still needs to adjust to the pace and physical approach of the premier league. Could it be that in seeing that Meireles currently has this football culture shock problem, there were no viable options in the squad, Kuyt just had a terrific game vs chelsea behind torres. Could it be that due to this problem, Roy though it would be more beneficial toplay Raul on the right. In this scenario, I for one dont blame Roy. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, Gerrard on the right? C'mon mate. When we had masch and alonso bossing the midfield, one could attempt to play Gerrard on the right, but considering the options we have right now, it would leave a gulf-hole in the middle.
  12. Gerrard Skretl Kelly
  13. Match was won in midfield. Our midfield bar Gerrard alone was non-existest today. Too many poor passes and we seemed physically and mentally drained after the chelsea ,match. Really disappointed we lost 2 needless points. We have enough quality to trash wigan on their own soil. Some players were unrecognisable today, most notably Lucas who was a shadow of that guy who bossed the midfield vs chelsea 3 days ago.
  14. Poor display from lucas today.
  15. I would start with the same first 11 vs chelsea, with kuyt behind Torres and Gerrard and Lucas as CM, obvuiously subject to the physical condition of all the players. If fit would have Johnson as a sub with the aim to play him on the wing. Kelly deserves another start, and I believe that the solidity of Kelly at the back, with Johnson s pace and penetration on the flank can give us a new dimesnion. Kelly can become our new Finnan, and is a better header of the ball.

    Plier ratings

For me, Gerrard should be motm. His captain like performances are magnificent and i respect the man too much. What he brings into the team, no other LFC player can come close. In the first half yesterday he got hold of the middle of the pitch, spraying passes and winning tackles and that gave confidence to all the others around him. I love our captain and dread the day when he has to come out and retire. He s one of our greats alongside Barnes, Rush, Beardo and King Kenny himself
  17. Gerrard Lucas Torres
  18. Starting vs chelse; i would love to see Johnson as a right mid, with steady kelly behind him. Kelly is solid and has enough strength and technique to overlap and whip in a good ball when needed. Johnson would give us width, pace and penetration down the right flank.

    A unique feeling

I loved Rafa to bits. Still think LFC (purslow) was wrong to allow rafa to leave. However i ve never seen a LFC manager criticised by our own as this one. Roy may be old, he may be ugly, he may have said some stupid things to the press, but c'mon give the guy a break. I cant really understand all this hatred towards the man. He is LFC manager at the moment and he should be given his chance, like all the mangers before him. You can t totally blame the man for this poor start, which slowly seems to be turning around. No manager could make such a negative or postive impact during this brief period.
