I would like see us without Adam. I think he is a liability in our defensive work. Players get far to easy past him. If Gerrard fit then play himwith Henderson. Otherwise pair Hendo with Spearing.

IMO Masch is the best defensive midfielder in the world. Apart from Lucas our midfield is lacking in that department. Poor teams have created far to many changes against us this season and it is in midfield our defensive work is to blame imo. My point is that Mascherano has not played in his position this season. When he gets a game he plays as a defender. Wonder if he is to pleased with that? A loan deal would be great but I would him to come back on permanent basis. He has at least 5 good years left.

Mascherano hasn't started a game in LaLiga this season in midfield. He can't be to happy. I'd take him back.

Javi Martinez is the one for me. As for a striker I'm starting to think Torres will be available in January. I would love to see him back... But I don't see us spend much in this window.

Henderson played very well in the two U21 games recently in the middle of the park. I'd like to see him play there.

No problem - I have actually been underwhelmed by him aswell and therefore his performance, even at that stage was positve for me. They played 4-3-3 where Henderson was in the middle of the three in midfield. He ran the show for me. His work rate is excellent and he looked like a box-to-box player with very good runs and his passing was also good. So what I was trying to say was that he looked promising in a playmaking role.

Did you watch the game? Iceland actually have decent team and did well in the Euro finals last summer. Were among 8 teams that made it to the finals. Henderson just had a very good game and played in a position I have not seen him play for Liverpool. I thought it was worth a mention in this thread.

Watching Henderson having a very good game last night with the U21 I wonder if it would suit us better playing him alongside Lucas than playing Adam there. He had a very good game last night, was head and shoulders above others in midfield in that game yesterday.

He played as a CB tonight and had a very good game.

I think 4-2-3-1 is the system to play. Our fullbacks will work great. Johnson and Enrique have pace and skills to go forward. I also think that Lucas works best in this system. He needs Gerrard with him till january and then we need to bring someone in like Martinez. I also thind that Carrol can be the one on top. With Suarez / Bellamy / Maxi / Kuyt / Downing / Gerrard wotking off him in the 3 positions behind him. They are al good attackers but are also very good in their defensive role.

I know that but this is how Kenny has set the team up in every game this season. And Adam and Henderson are not good enough IMO. 4 4 2 is not working for us and those are neither. Thats why I say we can win today but without a change in our system and lineup we will lose the next two games after today.

Our midfield is not strong enough IMO with these four. Lucas and Downing are ok but the other two are not. This team will win today but loose the next two games against Everton and ManU.
