Gylfi has an agent and it is his job to get him the best deal possible. So of course it makes it easier to have another club bidding. To have an altarnative is basic in negotiating. It has been reported that Gylfi had agreed terms with Swansea before BR left for Liverpool so it is logical that we have offered the same. Now that Spurs are in changes things. We have a manager that knows Gylfi better than any other in the PL. He knows what he is worth.

That's about right. For me Bendtner has actually been the player in PL that I dislike the most. His attitude is awful, his ego is ... I don't have the word! And he is not a good striker! I think I would just give up of football if we signed him.

You are most likely right... but still we need players in that mould. And we got Suarez without CL. Lavezzi is not a bigger name IMO. Martinez will probably go to Barca but we should try hard for him. He will become a world class player.

We need to sell Adam, Maxi and Spearing. Add to that the 3m we got for Kuyt we might get +15m this summer in sales. Buy Gylfi for 7m, Martinez for 20m and Lavezzi for 20m. Thats appr. 30m net spending.

Gylfi in the Icelandic press: I might sign for Liverpool. I don´t know where I will play next season. I want to play in the PL and wanted to stay at Swanea but after Rodgers left for Liverpool that changed. Liverpool is a big club with a great history. I don´t expect to be at Swansea next season. (Not direct quotes but a summary) He also says that he has been in contact with Brendan and congratulated him on joining Liverpool but that they did not discuss a possible move for him to Liverpool.

Like I said, a good addition to our squad. Would improve us from last season IMO. For 4 million a good buy. But the like of Martinez and Lavezzi would be the top signings. Around 20m each.

I think that both Dempsey and Gylfi would improve our squad. Both have goals in them. Dempsey is actually a proven goalscorer. But we need more. 2 top players in Martinez and Lavezzi and add to that the likes of Gylfi, Dempsey and a left footed defender and we are ready for next season.

Lavezzi and Martinez would be the top signings this summer for me. Then add 2-3 squad players and ship out Aqua, one of Kuyt or Maxi, and Adam.

This could not be further from the truth. I think the owners have handled this well. Nothing has leaked from the club. It is all down to speculation. The only circus is the media in UK, which is full of clowns so no surprise there.

And with Babbel the manager of Hoffenheim it would be easy to break into that deal...

I would like that better than having Martinez. I'm just saying I don't get Martinez without a top DoF. Whoever that would be. My worry with Martinez is getting top players to join. We don't offer CL. We need a big name manager or a DoF.

I can only get my head around Martinez appointment if the like of LVG is joining as a DoF. A setup like that could work. And I get the idea of Rafa not working in that setup. Otherwise I just don't get it.

Henry and Co. can't be happy about Martinez telling Whelan everything and the old man then giving all away to SSN! If that is the case they must be thinking if the are talking to a moron!

We need two world class signings - a CM and a Forward. For me it would be Javi Martinez and Lavezzi. Then we need 2-3 squad signings. Dempsey would be a good signing + a defender (which could play as a LB) and AM in the Maxi mould. Let Aqua, Cole and one of Maxi or Kuyt leave. It is so easy!

Nothing has leaked from the owners. The press is just speculating and are just getting quotes from managers they have themselves linked to us. I still think the appointment will come as a surprise. NO ONE HAS TURNED US DOWN AS WE HAVE NOT OFFERED THE JOB THE ANYONE! There are still goog managers out there which have not been linked to us. Walter Mazzarri at Napoli is one.

If Frank de Boer is offered the job he will not turn it down. Neither will any of the one linked to us so far, except probably Pep. No one has turned us down. The media in the UK is utter rubbish and are jumping to conclusions like crazy. Even if managers state in the press that they love their current job it doesn't mean s***.

Am I the only one that thinks it is a big difference rejecting an approach for talks or turning down an offer to take over as manager? I mean what answer can De Boer give to the press when asked if he is up for an interview? Of course he says he will decline as he is happy. But I think if he is offered the job we would get him. I'm not to worried about the all this. I think we will get a good manager that will fit in to the future setup.

Where did you see that? Javi Martinez has been on the top of my list since last summer. By far the best player of U21 tournament in Danmark last summer. Going to be a great player and IMO better in midfield than as a CB. He is the player we need with Lucas in midfield.
