Samuel Platts, near our side of the ground about 2 mins walk away, has been asked by Manc Plod to be a designated LFC pub. There's plans for a big marquee outside, as it has a big car park type area. It's a big place too, similar to the Fernhurst (Blackburn) in terms of size. virtually if not all the pubs in Manchester have said they don't want LFC fans, but the police have insisted that some of them do as they don't want us just roaming the streets. Sam Platts is one of the main ones planned for LFC. I'll be able to confirm 100% this later in the week - at the moment they are saying no, but it looks like they won't have much choice.

How frustrating that these are exactly two of they type of players we need: A pacy striker and a creative playmaker in the Bergkamp mould. These guys could save us £20m. Such a pity they have never fulfilled their potential. Will they contribute next season?

Exactly the 3 type of players i think we need, fingers crossed! In terms of performance this year, we all wanted CL qualification and to be closer to Chelsea, and good runs in all the cups. In the league we've absolutely achieved that, delighted with effectively securing CL qualification with 4 games to go and a possible highest points total for over 15 years. Not only that, but the amount of shots, corners etc would seem that our only major challenge is to be more clinical in front of goal. A record number of clean sheets, and Anfield becoming a fortress again. In the cups, we have every chance of winning the FA cup, and although in the CL we had a poor result against Benfica the next game would have been Barca. We'd have probably lost this, and if we had then it would have been no disgrace. The other opportunity missed was in the League Cup, but hey, it's only 'micky mouse' I'm happy with our overall progress this year, and now we have a squad almost entirely under 30 that will be together for some time, plus the return of God. It's gotta be a hit.

The squad as I hope for next yr: Reina Carson Finnan--Sami--Carra--Riise Kromkamp--Agger--Paletta--Aurelio/Warnock Garcia--Xabi--Didi--Kewell ??--Stevie--Momo--Gonzalez/Zenden Crouch--Robbie ??--?? 3 more players in, as well as those we're expecting making 6 in total. Nando, Cisse, Traore, Dudek sold - if we can get £12-14m we'll be doing well. Any money for Diao, Cheyrou etc is a bonus. As for those in - I'd like a man beating, good crossing RW (Pennant or similar style would be ok from what I've seen, esp if we're on a budget). For strikers - one of Owen, Kuyt, Defoe, plus AN Other (Aimar type playmaker?) This gives us lots of options with Stevie, Harry, Luis, Zenden, Gonzalez all able to have flexible roles - within games if needs be. Same for the FB's, in fact if we don't get Aurelio it won't be a total disaster by any means. Here's hoping! Ps. Rafa still as manager!

You forgot Warnock, but I agree with all the other existing ones. As for new players - RW and 2 Strikers/Forwards for me, as opposed to another CM. I like the blend of our CM's now. Didi Stevie Xabi Momo Zenden Can/will all do a job for us next yr. I think for our 2 forwards we need a hole player/forward type along with a goalscorer (Owen/Kuyt/Defoe looking favourite). Who that last player could be I have no idea - I'd like someone equally comfortable up front or as an attacking AM dependant on the situation.

Torp, Norway - Liverpool, England = 1038km Assuming a walking speed of 6k/hour this will take them 173 hours or 7.2 days solid walking. If we allow only 12 hours walking/day it will take them 14.4 days. Which will get them here just in time for Bolton (h). Someone should point out the error of their ways and tell them to do it properly if they want to be considered real dyed in the 'wool' reds. on a related note, anyone want to offer them a swap for their derby tickets?
