    I agree with this, but in that case the manager has to answer for the long term strategy etc, and in that case he should have the final say on such matters

    I’m not trying to speak on behalf of Neil etc, they have their own logins here and can address criticism if they care. I’m saying, if Slot can’t be asked about budgets, squad, long term plans etc, and if we don’t want to hear from Edwards and Hughes, then are we just OK with no one talking about those things ever?

    I want Slot to be replaced. I also want the person who makes the biggest footballing decisions to be someone we see and hear from. I’d rather that was the manager. But what we currently have is the worst of all worlds. Whether Hughes is a spoofer or not, we are creating the conditions where spoofers will thrive. Someone should be.

    We can’t have a situation where the person who makes the most important decisions about players gets to hide away from the limelight. The solution is to abandon that bulls*** structure IMO but in the mean time Hughes should answer some questions.

    I think it’s clear that Slot likes a small squad. So when he finds himself short of players, he should take responsibility for that. At the same time, the suits above him are supposedly building a squad that would work regardless of who the Head Coach is, so they have to take responsibility too.

    If you’re managing Liverpool then the buck stops with you, that’s what the job is. Maybe it’s not in your JD to pick up all the stones at Melwood but if that’s what needs to be done to get results, then you do it. In fairness it’s a bit confused by the fact that he’s not actually the manager, and that’s certainly part of the problem IMO.
