I think you have to get a great manager and let him take charge of everything. Of course he can’t do all the recruitment etc himself, but the people who do it should report to him. I know the downside is that if the manager fails then you have to change everything. But in practice, when a Head Coach fails, then everything usually changes anyway.

I’ve never ever been on board with this DoF / Head Coach thing. I know it’s the way things are usually done now but I think it’s s***.

I’d get rid of both. I have empathy for both of them but I have empathy for loads of people whom I wouldn’t want involved with Liverpool FC.

The manager’s job is to win anyway. Whatever crisis there may be, however unfair it may seem. It’s a very hard job and that’s why it pays many millions per year.

I think we are back in the territory of FSG being easy marks for any spoofer who can use PowerPoint. Like how they got conned by Commolli, Rodgers and Jen Chang. Edwards was obviously a good data bod but does that mean he’s Chief Exec material? (Where’s the second club Mike?) Hughes has now got a lot to answer for, with the players we have signed (yes I was excited and thought we’d had a good summer but I’m just some knob on the internet, this is his actual job), and the set piece coach etc.

I don’t think Gerrard would get us relegated, I think Slot might. Slot is a better coach than Gerrard but we are in weird circumstances.
