Aye, I think the French FA and Police were investigating a number of transfers and his was one of them, although they did release a statement saying that Liverpool FC were entirely innocent. -

Barely anything went down that side when he was on the pitch, then when Garcia comes on suddenly we start playing stuff in that direction. Granted he's hardly looked great so far, but he needs the ball to look good, and for my money he's not getting it.

Don't think he did much wrong today. The first one was deflected IMO, and the second was just a top notch header. Of course because he's not produced flying saves here there and everywhere (mainly because he's not had to) and not assisted 4 goals, he'll now be chastised.

Hark at the football fan upper class here. Small time my a***, it's a cracking idea. It's as much 'small time' as the multitude of songs and threads about Chelsea that our fans have spawned since the Russian arrived.

One thing about him today and his performance - he was fasting, as it's now Ramadan, yet after seeing him haring about the pitch like he did, you wouldn't think so. He's just awesome.

There was a bit about the England strikers who scored 8 and 9 in a calender years - and they all scored their goals against s**** teams. In fact I think 4 of Mortensen and Lofthouse's came in one game - England beat Portugal 8-0 or 8-1, and those two scored the lot. So that prick can zip his gob.

Thought JAR and Crouchy were very good today, personally. Especially Riise who didn't look like getting beaten all afternoon.

Fantastic performance - might just have forced his way into McClaren's thinking too. I don't see how anyone watching that game tonight can fail to be impreesed by his performance.
