How hard is it to understand the fact people have expected to see more and will voice concerns? We've been stung for long enough and people will be wary of our signings. That's what 18 years of underachievement and over-paying does for you. Saying that Torres has shown a glimpse of why we bought him, Voronin has been pretty impressive also, and Benayoun. Babel less so. That's why threads like this appear.

Now that's optimism I hope you're right. There's definitely ability there, he's as raw as hell though. You can certainly see why Wenger was interested.

Granted it's only pre-season, and anyone passing final judgement on him wants to have a severe word with themselves, BUT, he has been garbage, and we spent £12M on him, so i'd have expected to see a little more from him, and people will have their doubts and concerns. They're a very ambitious club - see the offer last year for free season tickets if they reached the Premiership. Never gonna happen mind with the size of the squad , but Coterill is an absolutely superb manager doing wonders on pretty much nothing, and there are some very good players at the club, especially up front. The Championship is wide open next season IMO, there really isn't one outstanding choice for the division, and it coould be like the other year when Watford won promotion from absolutely nowhere.
