Absolutely it is. But also backs Diaz into a corner where he has to leave to get a big new contract

This is probably his last chance to get a big contract from a top European club. If we aren't going to give it, can see why he would look elsewhere and potentially try to force the issue. However the method and timing are so poorly done it beggars belief. Hopefully is just horrible agents as he has always come across as quite sound up to now

It's such a weird time. On a practical level I know we need to replace him in the squad, but I'm not really ready to engage with that - almost like replacing him will make it real

They never really developed physically. Pongolle was too small, Le Tallec too slow and weak. They would probably have been better off not joining us and instead playing first team football in France. Pongolle had a pretty good career in the end
