Not sure about that. Xabi and Javi were as good a midfield as any, peak carra, sami and pepe behind. We definitely lacked in wide areas, but the spine of the team was good enough

We signed loads of players at the top of the chances created stats the previous season. The data analytics wasn't as advanced as now, but there should have been someone querying it. Downing being subbed on for Carroll (or vice versa) was a move i remember more than once. Neither was Pele, but at least put them on the pitch together if that's how you think you can create a goal

They are having such an odd season. s***e under Rodgers and the new guy, but Martin O'Neill won nearly all his games in charge. Looks a really badly run club
