  1. Isn't that because he can't sign a pro contract yet due to his age?
  2. Lots of valid reasons for why we haven't clicked yet in the posts on last couple of pages. Also worth bearing in mind that the fixture list was not kind, with the two most intense teams in the league first up - which was always going to be a test of set up, players bedding in etc. From the equivalent games last season against Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal we got 5 points. So whilst performances have been patchy (at best), we have already improved on that with one more game to come against another Pulis inspired side
  3. People who watch for the drama, not for the quality of football.
  4. Yet. Still got 6 points - from same fixtures last year we got 4
  5. This is like playing rugby. Line was far too high for that second goal, no idea why we were there
  6. Looks like they are trying to lower the age of the squad quite drastically, whilst preparing for post pep
  7. Really hope we don't go with that option, wouldn't be fair on the lad at all
  8. Standard blame the agent, so can deflect from player's role and reintegrate
  9. Agree. It's trying to cover up mistakes. The lack of honesty from them is what undermines their own credibility
  10. Freddie Woodman treated like a dog
  11. Hopefully on loan. Don’t want to give the Madrid c**** any money
  12. Completely agree with that, just don't think this is the reason
  13. Unfortunately I don't think the vast majority of the public care one way or the other
  14. He lacks composure, which can be masked when he is full of confidence. The problem was his confidence went and then he hadn't got the composure to take the chances under the pressure he put on himself. Perhaps there is a weight of the shirt issue too, some players grow when they join us, others shrink
  15. I wonder if after his early years he just wasn't fit enough - not due to injuries, but not training hard enough so he had no stamina. Might explain why he coasted through matches doing so little
  16. They have basically only had two successful managers in their history. Of the above - 5 leagues, 2 FA cups and 1 EC were Busby. Doesn't leave much for the rest of their 'illustrious' history
  17. I think it was us telling them to hurry up/get serious about a replacement And possibly give Isaak a reason not to turn up to training on monday
  18. I'm intrigued by the hatred of the RNLI, what's that all about?!
  19. It might be as simple as he doesn't want to play in Saudi at this stage of his career, or take his young family there. In which case we are waiting for European clubs (many without a pot to piss in) to try to out an acceptable bid together. Agree it might end up with a loan, possibly late in the window
  20. Personally I prefer Diaz's greater involvement in games. However if Wirtz is playing in midfield and carrying the ball forward (with the help of the overlapping full backs) we have less need for Diaz to be the ball carrier from deep positions which is one of his big strengths. Might be Gakpo's better finishing ability is more suited to how we want to attack
  21. I think in that scenario Ekitike and Isak are replacing Jota and Nunez and we still need someone left sided
  22. Shows he isn't greedy and isn't moving for the money. Counters the Newcastle narrative
  23. Or the owner takes the unpopular decision to sell him, so that the manager doesn't take the flak. This whole saga has felt very stage managed for a while. I think it's been happening for a while and this has been about Newcastle trying to create a narrative where their fans accept their best player being sold
