  1. Out of my seat cheering that. Did it to Deeney second half as well.
  2. Also, which commentators seem to forget, has experience of a title win against a big-spending, oil-funded dominant team. May be 'only' Ligue 1, but it still counts.
  3. They were excellent in their organisation in defence, confident, experienced and disciplined. Their game plan was to stretch the game wide - looked really old school with both Gnabry and Koman having chalk on their boots - and long; Neuer was like a libero, they were desperate for us to press into their back four so they could bypass us. Thought we were equally disciplined, and played some nice stuff. Just some sloppiness with final options and selection, both Trent and Robbo below par, and, maybe, a lack of intensity in the last 30, unless that was again a choice not to go gung ho and get suckered. Very comfortable going there with 0-0.

  6. And Salah had exactly the kind of chance he was gobbling up in every other game to get a draw and break his duck against them

  8. Not quite. Middlesborough away was game 27 - so W10 D1 L1 in last 12. 2014 last 12 was exactly the same. If we could repeat both those season's run-ins City would have to not lose any games, and draw no more than one, to beat us.

  10. Well we are capable of that, the point was more that, having banked the 3 head-to-head points already, it's still not in City's hands however good they may be. As it happens, I think we are more than capable of not being more than 2 points worse than them in the run-in games.
  11. City did to Chelsea what we did to Arsenal almost 5 years to the date. Despite being brilliant in the run-in, topping the table and beating the eventual champions, we still didn't win the league, in case anyone has forgotten. Not least because the winners just kept on winning in the final few games when it mattered. Role reversal time.
  12. Quite comfortable with the position and narrative as things stand. City being brilliant and favourites is fine by me - at the end of the day, they can win every game 6-0, but won't catch us if we do what we have to - and are capable of.

  20. We're currently a point ahead of our return from the equivalent games in the first half of the season, and that went pretty well, so all's good. 4 points ahead, same GD, played 7 of 10 big 6 games, only 1 left away. All gravy.
  21. Can't wait and feel really positive - even though I will be going completely off grid and incommunicado for the duration.
  22. At Real Madrid?
  23. Big Squires fan, but it takes all sorts, I suppose.
  24. The way he moves to his right for a good view of the foul is text book as well. He's one of the few refs that don't make my heart sink when named as reffing us, although somewhat pedantic at times.
  25. Lovely, skilful footballer, played with his head up and a straight back, trusted his skill and pace to beat a man. One of those wingers who understood his role, always contributed, maintained width, good delivery; not one of those flaky, one game in five speed merchants. A gent and an early hero. RIP.
