Just a thought, coz I have a few hours before I cahnge my Metro Fantasy team.... Why exactly are people convinved that France are now "back"? (I picked them to win too, by the way, but nervously...) Yep, they played very well against Spain, but they were pants in the group stage. Is it that Viera looks like 2003 Viera? Riberry and Malouda looking good? And Sagnol looking VERY sound? But.... They ARE still playing a Brazil that haven't started to simmer yet. I'm just ........ unsure.

Is Carrick better than Fletcher, Richardson, O'Shea, Miller, Giggs, Jar Jar or Smith in Central mid? Yes, certainly he is. But, with him in the team, could they be overrun by quality pressing teams playing a high tempo game? Yes, they can. He is an improvement on what they have, but at £16m (if that's what it'll be), I'm not exactly frightened. Giggs will start to decline, Scholes already has. Ronaldo could be off (I hope not, but still...), Richardson et al... Well, yeah..... exactly. They need to look at rebuilding MOST of their midfield, not just central mid. And I don't think they can do it in one summer.
