  2. Push it further. The innovative 4-4-4 that Switzerland employed during the '94 World Cup was very successful. And their manager was a lesbian owl.
  3. Yep. Not why we lost, but how these idiots have taken looking authoritative after making terrible decisions, is an art-form nobody asked for.

    Milos Kerkez

He's offered far too little going forward, but has been pretty solid defensively, and it's a pity he wasn't on the pitch to try to stop the winner.
  5. He was attacking when we were trying to equalize and then win the game, but the Endo sub was like a sign that he was willing to settle for the draw. I don't know if Gomez isn't fit, but would have made much more sense to bring him on (and put Grav back in midfield) than bring Endo on. Endo has been great at closing out games, but did nothing today.
  6. Yeah, in the greater scheme of things, it doesn't matter, and of course we don't have to read his bile, but it's still annoying. Given how we've played this season (i.e. not very well in many games), we could be far worse off than where we are. I think today we were actually unlucky to lose that (and losing to last minute goals two weeks running is an utter gut punch), but we weren't playing against a great team, and if we don't sort our s*** out, we're going to lose a load more.
  7. Almost got one of the assists of the season 30 seconds after coming on. Means nothing cos we didn't score, and then we went on to lose the game, but we played much better in the second half once he was on, and as Benzo said, he's not being helped by the other attackers. And to put it another way, with less terrible finishing from teammates, he could easily have 4 or 5 assists already.
  8. He's not playing well, but I do think Jota's death has maybe hit him harder than the others. Still would like to see Chiesa given more of a chance because I believe he will deliver more than current Mo.
  9. Thought this was Macca's best game of the season, but admittedly that's not saying much. And he didn't bother get close to Caicedo for that goal. Konate is an embarrassment at the moment. Teams just let him have the ball because they know he's going to do nothing with it, and if they're lucky, he'll set up an attack for them.
  10. Robbo did more attacking in 25 mins or so than Kerkez has done all season, but should have done better with their goal. What a s*** feeling. Again.
  11. Also he was booked for kicking the ball away. As part of a tackle. While the game was going on. lolz.
  12. It feels like we're playing with 9 men much of the time. Konate is a liability in possession (and all our opponents know it). , and Mo has been so poor recently it's painful to see. Can't imagine Chiesa would have done much less than Mo in the last few league games. Gakpo was better today, but still slowed us down too much. Isak not fit yet, Wirtz good in flashes, frustrating in even more flashes. Full backs contributing nothing to our attack. Dom our player of the season by some distance, and yet we're having to waste him at RB too often. And losing two league games to last minute goals, and one of these before an international break, just adds to the crapness of it all.

  14. Yeah, that's worrying too though! Dembele and Doue were both carrying small injuries, got called up to the French squad last month, and Deschamps broke them both.
  15. His hammys are made out of noodles, so it could have happened any time, but still annoying that it resulted from another Konate error. Hopefully Dom's wayward pass to Ekitike caused far less damage.
  16. Impressive from PSG given they're missing their first choice 3 up front. Should be leading now. Bad miss by Barcola
  17. Excellent equalizer by PSG. And what a player Mendes is.
  18. The pen we got was correctly over-ruled, but for theirs, I can't remember a penalty decision being so quickly confirmed. I had the sound off, and kept expecting to see the "VAR checking for penalty" images.
  19. True - but even when they do, they're not doing enough with it.
  20. That's fair enough. But as other posts have shown, he's creating chances. He absolutely has to lose the ball less, but two of our best chances came from him and some of his forward passing was really good. The pass here at 48 seconds, and the one to Isak on 2 mins 53 were both superb. As was the cross for Bradley. As I said before, the lack of good play from our forwards aside from Ekitike is as much of a problem as Wirtz.
  21. He's definitely making me nervous, so I imagine it's far worse for those around him. He sometimes looks like he's never controlled or passed a football before.
  22. Robert Pires had a really slow start at Arsenal and he was 4 years older than Wirtz when he came to England. First season at Arsenal, Pires scored 4 and had 6 assists. Some of Wirtz's short passing is inexplicably bad, and he definitely looks lightweight. But I'm guessing he's created more chances than anyone else in the team, and Ekitike is the only one of our forward players offering anything decent, so it's not all down to him.

Think he's better than (current) Robbo defensively, but not as good attacking. Right back is a much bigger problem area, with one of our best midfielders being the current best option there.
  24. Big surprise for me is how often he underhits passes, easy ones too. As others have said, he could easily have had 2 assists, and I don't think he played that badly, but for the money we paid, you'd want more, and he needs to be much stronger in possession.
  25. What did he say? Here's Slot: Again, disappointed. For me, this was a different performance on and off the ball [than Crystal Palace]. First half we played quite well and had a big chance to go 1-0 up. "It is difficult to compare this situation to before. We are sometimes a bit out-smarted in situations like this and I cannot blame Dominik Szoboszlai for the situation. They make a 20% penalty a 100% penalty, which is very smart from them. "We are not so far [off the level shown last season]. This is sometimes what the schedule can bring, Galatasaray is not a simple game. We now play Chelsea away, a difficult game. "The margains are small and they were last season. For the second time in a row we are on the wrong side. "I saw a lot of things in the first half, but the second half was much less. I don't think in the second half there was a lot of playing time, their striker was on the floor four or five times. It was difficult to get momentum in the game." I actually think he's inflating the pen incident - think that gets given less than 10% of the time, even in Europe. Was an absurdly soft pen, and VAR just spent 5 seconds looking and said yup.
