  1. I just don't get where his arm was meant to be, because as you fall after sliding like that, it's instinctive to have both your arms/hands try to soften the landing. I don't think his eyes were on the ball, but he prob knew where the ball was. Would just be a pointless thing to do after a successful tackle.
  2. That Madrid pen was ridiculous. Like what is he meant to do with his hand as he's sliding in there. Outrageous decision. balancing it up cos of the sending off.
  3. There's also a stat about him making more forward runs / runs into the final 3rd than any other player in the league, which shows he's constantly on the move, but isn't being picked out enough. This is something I've noticed in our games - he makes a load of really good runs, but we're not taking advantage of them yet...

  5. Have never understood the Sesko hype. Woltemade is a year older, but think he's a better player, and cost less. In other news, Wilder is back as Sheff Utd manager for the 3rd time, coming back again just 3 months after his last sacking there.

  7. Alvarez took a knock and went off at HT this weekend. Not ruled out of our game yet, so maybe it was just precautionary. They've only won 1 of their 4 league games so far.
  8. Yep, pretty similar. There's some games where both of those would have been red, others where one would be and the other not. The Mac Allister one looked worse cos he had his leg was planted
  9. Based on this pic, it could have been a lot worse. And while I haven't seen a still like this of the Bradley challenge, and maybe that was just as bad, this looks a straight red
  10. Yeah, agree - although I think what it also shows is that once Wirtz and those around him are on the same wavelength, which will happen the more they play together, the productivity, and goals/assists will come.

There's different levels of think though. He's young, so hopefully that is part of it. He was good in our last couple of games, but when he gets over-eager, he becomes rash, and does silly things like diving into tackles, or the very silly dive today.
  12. Yeah, and I get it, cos Burnley aren't going to come out and attack the big teams cos they'll get slaughtered. But it's still a toss of the coin tactic, where they'll lose half the time they try it.
  13. Looks like he's bulked up too.
  14. 81% possession, 27 shots, (but only 4 on target, which was poor). 55 touches in their box (2 for them). But Burnley were unlucky. Ok.
  15. Not recently, but early on after his move, there were plenty of posts saying that he was s***, or a spoofer.
  16. Can't believe some people (non Liverpool fans obviously) will feel bad for Burnley there. Fair enough that they employed the tactics most likely to get them a point, but it was only because we played like crap that we enabled them to get close to doing so. And they should have been down to 10 men for the foul on Mac Allister, which would likely would have ended their brave resistance much earlier.
  17. Took a little while to get going there, and obviously lacking a brain by choosing them (even though it worked out better for us in terms of the midfield rebuild we did instead) but no point denying that he's a very good player.
  18. Ha! Tyler actually sounded happy when it was awarded a goal
  19. That Vampire kid they got from the Mancs celebrated like he'd scored their goal, but it wasn't even an assist by him. Brentford way too slow closing down Caicedo.
  20. It's definitely more complex than the City case, but it's almost like the most reasonable thing to do is to strip them of everything they won during that period. That way you're not punishing the current regime, who have exploited every loophole possible rather than outright cheating, but you are showing that there are consequences for cheating. Send the police round to all the former players' houses to take back their medals.
  21. Yeah, this is a tricky one. Cooperating is obviously better than what City have done, but it doesn't detract from the fact that like City, Chelsea built their success on cheating. It's not like they should get away with it just because they did cooperate and there's different owners now. Points deduction would be nice, but unfortunately I see a hefty fine as more likely, which is almsot the same as letting them get away with it, particularly given the financial model Chelsea have created in the new regime.
  22. Wouldn't surprise me if it came out during the next international break, which might be same week as you mention above.
