  1. Yeah, seems to have been a combination of things including the above - plus not wanting political or religious messages underneath and, excessive celebrations / time wasting (which makes no sense now that we have VAR.
  2. Yeah, Slot not happy: "Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned but I did score a few goals - not at his level but I did - and if I went past three players and put it in the top corner then maybe you can say 'this is all about me'. "But if I scored a goal like he did tonight, I would turn to Chiesa and say 'it's about you Federico - great assist, great run and I didn't have to do a lot'. Maybe that's me being old-school. Footballers are so dumb. Yeah, he's young etc, but he scored a tap in against Soton. There was no need to get so excited.
  3. Yeah, I wouldn't expect Isak to play the full 90, and would be too risky to make him to so. But having this version of Chiesa come on means there's less to be concerned about...towards the end of the game, Gakpo up front or Wirtz as a false 9 are also possibilities.
  4. Gomez and Endo had their own special competition for that tonight. Both did some good stuff and some very rusty stuff. Their goal was a collaboration of mess ups.
  5. Was half a mile offside for his goal, but was still a lovely finish. He has fantastic technique. Looks slimmer and faster than a year ago, which is why he's getting more minutes now.
  6. Or maybe it was the sight of Ryan Giggs's hairy chest? That's far more universally upsetting than any political message. And yeah, there's no excuse, and he should know better, but still one of those weird rules whereby a potential leg breaking tackle can result in the same punishment as taking your shirt off...
  7. Looked innocuous, but he was in a lot of pain. Looks a really good prospect, very calm in his defending. Hopefully nothing serious.
  8. Stepping aside from how stupid it was of him to get himself sent off like that, the bookings for taking your shirt off is such an odd thing*. I can't even remember where that came from or why. *But it's fine to book players I hate when they do it.
  9. His best game for us, and the control for our second goal was filthy good.
  10. Oh dear. Can't remember what thread it was on where we were talking about football players not being the smartest, but wow. Will struggle to find two more daft and stupid bookings than those. Real shame, but he'll hopefully learn.

  13. Meh, it's just humour gone wrong. No harm done.
  14. City have same amount of points as Everton. I approve.
  15. Mental. Sterling's weekly paycheck is nearly a decade's worth of Median UK salary. A couple months of his work beats many people's entire career earnings. I'm glad Chelsea are flushing that money away on him (rather than someone who they actually want at the club), and I feel no sympathy for Sterling (not that I think anyone here does either).
  16. He's just become too robotic. Cut inside and shoot, or cut inside and float a cross to the back post. And he keeps slowing us down. Am sure he's not happy with his form either, but hopefully he'll turn it around soon. Also a goal and 2 assists in 5 games when he's off form isn't too bad....
  17. Once it got back to even number of players on each team, the Mancs looked like they were a player down. Never want to see them winning, but happy to see Chelsea lose, and this will give Amorin a bit more grace and time to continue his failure.
  18. Happy to see Casimero sent off, but he got a booking for doing what players regularly do to Salah without a foul even being awarded. Which I guess is to say, that it was a foul (as are the ones against Salah) but prob not worthy of a booking.
  19. The Mancs look better when it's 11 vs 10. If they can do that every game, they might be in with a chance of finishing top half of the table.
  20. When are Chelsea gonna sign a sponsorship deal with themselves worth 100 million a year?
  21. Slot is such a great manager and communicator. He was talking about Wirtz in his after match press conference, and reminded everyone - this kid only turned 22 in May, and is adapting not just to a new league, but living in a new country for the first time. It's so easy to forget that more human stuff.
  22. Was a weird atmosphere (from what I could tell watching on TV) after we went 2-0 up, but it seemed you could hear some of the gasps from the crowd after a few of his sublime his touches
  23. Thought Wirtz showed some amazing dribbles and touches. Easily his best game for us so far. XG often makes no sense to me. BBC have 2.6 XG for us, but it felt like we should have scored 5. I guess the 3 we scored weren't great chances or something... We are such a tease. crushing the hopes of our haters, game after game. it's delightfully cruel.
  24. Needs to mix it up a bit. He's far too predictable and has been slowing us down some.
