  1. Think he just had nothing left in the tank today.
  2. Yep, it's so noticeable, and it's embarrassing. He also looks overweight to me, which is perhaps why he's no longer quick and jumps like a 40 year old Peter Shilton.
  3. It's really depressing how s*** we are. It's not even fun to watch but lose (like Spurs under Ange) . As others have said, we have no identity, no and mentality anymore. City weren't great. We were just dire. And not that it would have impacted the result, but the officiating was just so so bad, so much in City's favor the entire match. Was a bit in the second half, can't even remember if it was 2-0 or 3-0 already, when their keeper held onto the ball for 15 seconds. Van Dijk noticed it, but the ref didn't care. Wirtz and Salah in the same team just leaves us too open, and Ekitike was anonymous because he had nothing left in the tank after 2 intense games in a week.
  4. We were s***. Officials were s***. Weather was s***. s***.
  5. Yeah, can understand Slot keeping same team, but last couple games have taken it out of them. And we're playing against 12 men too, which doesn't help. Every pundit says our goal should have stood. And how quickly PGMOL have come out with their nonsense statement shows they got it wrong too.
  6. We conceded a goal recently (think Frankfrurt), where there was an opponent offside, and from one angle it looked like he was obscuring our keeper's view, but then once you see all the angles, you see he's not. our goal was the same. Except this time they decided to decided to disallow it. some shocking stuff. should be 1-1
  7. Yeah - to put it more accurately: Him playing #10 doesn't mean we're going to press as we should (cos he needs others around him to do it right as we mostly did against Real) but if he's not playing #10, we're almost certainly not going to press right.
  8. Posted in the match thread too, but since the answer is Szoboszlai, it made sense to post it here too. Just confirms that he has to play as our #10, because without him there, we just don't press right or at all.
  9. Yeah, I had the same thought. Was also pressing much better the last couple games, which is another thing Isak is gonna have to learn to do. Obviously we need more than one central striker, and Isak is still not fit, but Ekitike deserves to keep his place.
  10. That Van Der Ven goal was absurd.
  11. I was trying to watch this, but it's unwatchable. Between the ever-elevated attempts at humour that are actually just idiocy, and two minutes of talking about games sandwiched in 30 seconds increments between ten minutes of un-skipable adverts, it's no wonder more people are turning to piracy.
  12. Having Wirtz playing where he did was so much better than Gakpo's predictive play, and allowed us to play our 3 best midfielders who pressed much better again. Want to see more of that. And man, I do feel for Wirtz, because he's put chance after chance on a plate for his team-mates (fantastic save though it was), and should have half a dozen assists or more already.
  13. Yeah, doesn't really matter in the greater scheme of things, but you rarely see a ref blow like that when one team is attacking right on the edge of the box, and 30 seconds of the 2 mins injury time was after the Hjusen foul and booking. Only thing the ref surprised me about was not giving a pen because I think Robbo got lucky there. Few of their players on bookings and Hjusen to me looks like he always has another mistake in him. Or Vinicious for another dive....
  14. Has that ever happened on a VAR before? Foul/handball given, then they think it might be in the box, and then they change their mind and say it wasn't a handball? I didn't even know that was allowed. The 2 mins of injury time was a joke too.

  17. Best game of the season so far, but still a lot more to come. His initial lack of smile after scoring made me sad.
  18. I hope it won't last, cos it makes for a s*** game and we're not very good at defending it. But we've lost 4 in a row, were on the ropes and he completely played into our hands.
  19. I don't care about booking Szoboszlai for rolling the ball away - it was time wasting, and a silly booking to risk - but it's the fact that it's still completely random and selective when this actually happens. Also when it was 0-0, Martinez was taking 10-12 seconds holding onto the ball, and ref wasn't bothered. Oh, and it feels like the refs have kinda won - Salah is now just expecting to be hugged and wrestled to the ground repeatedly with nothing given.
  20. Wondered if he was trying to be smart... like "they won't expect this"... but it was perfect. We've been vulnerable to long balls, so they just played it from the back time and time again to give us good practice in getting our press working again.

    Milos Kerkez

Robbo has had some bad defensive lapses, but Kerkez sometimes plays like a cat on a hot tin roof, and that kinda panic helps destablise the whole defence. And obviously Robbo contributes much more going forward too.
  22. I am loving Dom more by the week. Sometimes it's like there's two of him out there. Just doing a bit of everything at a consistently high level.
  23. Not that this says too much, but was easily Mac Allister's best game of the season so far, both on and off the ball.

  25. Absolutely. And their fans don't care either. If it wasn't so boring, it would be more impressive. But fair play, they've found an edge, and they still have to execute on those set pieces.
