Many of you have very very short memories. In the first half of last (04/05) season (up to Christmas really) he was outstanding, arguably our most consistent player during that period.

Can a truly prolific strikeforce contain Peter Crouch? I'm not sure it can. I think we all agree Crouch has some wonderful qualities but will never be prolific. So, if we want that prolific strikeforce, signings dependant, surely Crouch will be more of a bit part player. As an example, if we signed 2 strikers, Defoe and Kuyt for arguments sake, surely they would be first choice and most likely to bang in plenty.

I think this is a distinct possibility. I heard earlier in the week that the chances o bringing M.O. back were diminsihing for a number of reasons. On Defoe, I think he's a good player, potentially a brilliant one if he sorts one thing out; his movement. I think this is very iffy compared to say Johnson, but I'm sure this can be worked on and Rafa is looking at how the end product could be.

He's staying. Moro will leave. His goal against Villa and flick for Robbie at Pompey were both world class. However, he's been so hit and miss. Cisse too has been frustrating as hell but has put the ball in the bag plenty and often causes havoc to the opposition. I think the frustrating element can and will be improved upon. The rest is clearly there. He is staying. Oh and for what it is worth, I want him to.

I don't know of any other player who quite achieved true legend status for us in such a short space of time. He really is a top top class fella and I doubt there are many who could give anything but the highest praise to him. He's right up there with the best and it would be superb if he came back one day. I can see him as a future manager of our club if he wants to go that way in the future. God bless ya Macca, you're welcome home anytime.
