Could also be another take on the "why Alonso really left", or another rumour often repeated on TLW. If its the Hicks one, then thats not really news, is it. Rafa used Hicks as much as he could get away with.

Yeah, not the best example. He was at his best before 25 though. Think that was the point.

Playing in the first team at 17 does no harm. Becoming a key player and playing virtually every single match is worse. Fowler and Owen both were great when they were 21. Torres could turn out to be another. Raul at Real?

Not really, he is very slow. Very much similar to Hyypia, I think. Excellent in a team sitting back, but would be more exposed here. Would need a pacey partner.
