  1. This could be our year
  2. Juve lost a few of their older stars when they were relegated but the majority of the squad stayed til they went back up
  3. I think City are building up a PSR buffer so they don't have to sell their top players if they're relegated
  4. Juve fan in work was saying Allegri played absolutely awful negative football and drained all the talented players of their creativity
  5. They've brought in Motta who plays a unique style of football that's not suited to that many players. He's bombed out some really good players (Huijsen, the lad at Bournemouth being one) because the demands he has are weird. Plus he's on big money and only has a year left
  6. Ben Doak in the latest senior Scotland squad, Koumas and Owen Beck in the Wales squad
  7. We're doing a reverse Everton and going to get a points addition for being really good at PSR
  8. The Clark move feels early to me, he was on the verge of our first team last season (because of injuries admittedly) but now he's surplus to requirements. I think we could have put him out on loan to the Championship and got double in a year or even had a player who's good enough for our squad. Yeah that's part of my point, we were patient with him and van den Berg. I doubt we'd have gotten more than £10-15m if we'd sold Carvalho last summer and we'd probably have snapped someone's hand off for £5m for VDB last year. I'm not under the illusion that all of (or even any) of them are going to be first teamers, it just seems like we are dismantling a process that has been successful in developing players as well as financially lucrative for us over the last few years just as a really good crop of kids are approaching the key development phase. Morton is nearly 22 and Clark is 19. We'd have gotten a few hundred grand for Morton at 19 and we might get £20m for him this summer because we've handled him well and allowed him to develop.
  9. It feels like we're moving them on before we've given them a chance to bloom though. Even if they don't do a Quansah/Bradley and become useful to us they could do a Carvalho/van den Berg, develop as players and increase their value a ton on loan. I also think this new policy will make it harder to get top prospects in future. One of the things we did really well under Klopp compared to previous managers was developing lads who clearly wouldn't be good enough for us into guys who could go on to have solid professional careers. If you're the parents of a 14/15-year-old prospect you're probably going to be looking at how we've managed lads like Leighton Clarkson, Harry Wilson, Neco Williams etc as you would the guys who go on to play 200 games for us
  10. I reckon he's hiding in the toilets til the window shuts.
  11. Express linking United to Ederson
  12. Goretzka being forced out at Bayern, I haven't watched him for a couple of years, has he turned s***? Worth a punt for a couple of years if not
  13. I'd give him twice as much to compensate for your simping
  14. Yeah I think Hughes and Edwards are trying to rebuild the backroom side of things after a period in inertia since Edwards first announced his departure. People spoke about Klopp taking on more responsibility like it was a good thing and something he wanted but he consistently said over the years that he wanted nothing to do with it. I think it was just a case of there being a competency shortfall/power vacuum and someone had to fill it. I still think it's what led to his burn out too.
  15. Yeah, the butterfly effect of us not properly replacing Edwards years ago could see us losing our manager and 3 best players.
  16. He can only sign a pre-contract with a foreign team in January. I reckon he's off at this point. First one to say "it's fine, Bradley is a better defender anyway" is getting a wedgy
  17. Gorst saying Trent "doesn't want talks playing out in public out of respect for his boyhood club" Sounds like he's off from that
  18. Apparently we're £47m in profit between sales and all the sell on % clauses that have kicked in.
  19. I wonder why both clauses have been 17.5% and not 20%
  20. Maybe he means Succession planning
  21. They've spent more money since Boehly took over than Everton have in their entire existence

  23. Needs a bit of Sorkinising: Billy, we live in a world that has spreadsheets, and those spreadsheets have to be collated by men with stats. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Arne? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Zubimendi, and you curse the geeks. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that Zubimendi not signing, while tragic, probably saved FSG money; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves FSG money. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about on forums, you want me on that spreadsheet -- you need me on that spreadsheet. We use words like "FFP," "net spend," "press resistance." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent collating something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very analysis that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a calculator and fill in the Excel. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to!
  24. Apparently Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra has said on a stream that Barca are reactivating talks for Luis Diaz but want to include players for FFP. There's only really De John or Vitor Roque that we could be interested in I'd imagine. They can't afford to pay De Jong what he's owed in deferred wages. He'd have to take a pay cut to come to us as well, even his base wage was more than VVD is on I think
  25. Gravenberch came to us because he was unable to play in a 2 at Bayern as well
