  1. I am not saying i believe all the rumours and rubbish floating about, I was simply commenting on what was said on TAW who I expect are amongst the more informed as to what goes on a LFC. My numbnuts comments is born from frustration and as echoed by a number of posters across multiple sites there is a lack of acceptance about why a proven manager such as Rafa is not even being considered. It would be different if we were being linked to the likes of Klopp etc...and by linked I mean in with a realistic chance of securing, but at the moment it would appear we are in the Martinez / AVB camp. I have no issues with you defending them and I see from your own post you have doubts. You may think differently (I am sure you do) but FSG have alot to prove in my eyes...and this process is part of that.
  2. Me too, its really frustrating - I think I need to step away for a few days, but this place keeps pulling me back...I need my fix (and hope that FSG will see the light and at least give him a chance).
  3. Yep, I have no doubt that Ayre is definitely in the "anyone but Rafa" camp, can you imagine if he came back... Ayre: Hi Rafa how are you doing? Rafa: Fine thanks, got any sugar?
  4. Rafa has even got about 40% of the vote at TLW ~190 people!
  5. Rafa is apparently viewed as being "Pol Pot" by FSG (on TAW), do the numbnuts at FSG not understand this was because we were a total shambles? Were being asset stripped by the two cancers and he was having to sell to buy? Anyways its not going to happen, they wont bring him back...and as others have said it will most likely be AVB or Martinez.
  6. Then why approach Martinez? I want to believe that this process has actually been well run and that the last weeks perceived chaos has been a PR exercise. But its because I want to believe they are doing / have done this the right way rather than actually believing they are / have.

  8. Got negative press for saying "12", release smaller number "5" not to mention most people have said no! I agree that its only been a week and twitter is crazy, but this whole process appears to be so shonky its unreal. Especially as there not interviewing Rafa.
  9. Yep, as much as I liked the idea of FDB he has only recently taken over at Ajax, done really well so its not a surprise that he has decided to stay. So which of the 12 apostles are left exactly?
  10. Yep its only a matter of time (the story spinning part), I thought he made it quite clear he was staying when Kenny left but he has repeated it again today.
  11. Yep there was story going around that one of the first things he did on joining was tell Drogba he wasnt going to play as much, wanted to sell him and was only keeping him about because he was good helping the youth players develop.
  12. Agree, think he would be boss on the right or left of a front three....or on the right/left of a three in a 4-2-3-1
  13. Yep being second or even worse a last resort is going to fill Rafa with lots of confidence in FSG and co...I really think Ayre is the main reason that Rafa is not being considered* *thats based on him being one of the key parities involved in his sacking, and rumours that he made it very clear he wasnt coming back a few days when some fans met him at the races.
  14. Suarez was at the Coppa Italia cup game tonight apparently, lets hope he is tapping up Cavani and his buddy!
  15. Wishful thinking Yep winning things, not something FSG are looking for
  16. another player I have always wanted to see at lfc
  17. Appointing Martinez would be a hodgsonesque appointment
  18. Agree, but he should have realised that the likes of Terry, Lampard and co had too much power. A well club (big or small) would have backed there manager, but that was never going to be the case at CFC...should have realised that and adapted accordingly. Maybe it was too much to ask but I dont think its too unrealistic.
  19. For me I am concerned about his man management skills - yes Chelsea was a cauldron full of some of the worst egos possible but as a manager you have to be able to deal with such things, also if you want to phase a player out it has (especially ones as influential as Lampard, Terry & Drogba) to be done in the right way. I am all for a manager exerting there authority on a team / squad but it cant happen overnight, his failing was trying to do too much too quickly. That shows a lack of experience, ability to read a situation and formulate a plan to get the best out of the team in the interim. Though saying that he appears to live and breathe football...in the same way Rafa does...but another thing he showed at Chelsea was an inability to adapt, is he too stubborn?

    Ian Ayre

Interesting - thanks, it appears that Ayre managed to save himself and though its unclear I expect he has undergone a re-org which will only become clear under the new structure. I think the reason he is so prominent in the press is because there is no one else left who can fulfil that role (in the UK) until the new CEO is appointed (unless they have changed/done away with that role too!).
  21. Agree with that, have you heard any new info over the last few days? Seems a bit surreal that Kenny was only let go the middle of last week.
  22. Latest from the express...more rubbish i am sure, but it has us hiring AVB and cutting short our lengthy interview process after lots of negative press...you would normally just dismiss this as rubbish but with all the conflicting information about atm...who knows what there upto. Express
