Something I found on another forum, apologies its a long list of things achieved under Benitez....how can FSG not even talk to him?

I have my doubts tbh, something that stuck out during his time at Chelsea was an inability to change, he was stubborn to a point where the team were suffering. He kept pushing a system that clearly wasnt working until the day he was sacked, he was also very nieve in the way he dealt with the egos, everyone knows the likes of Lampard, Drogba and co are coming to the end of there career at Chelsea but as much as it pains me to say they still have something to offer, you cant bench them immediately. The smart play would have been to phase them out slowly and to slowly bring in there replacements. He came in and tried to do too much too quickly, pissed off alot of people and paid the price. That to me sounds like someone who lacks experience and I am not sure if we can take that risk?

I am with you mate, the longer this process goes on without him being approached/considered the more apparent it is that its an anti rafa stance from FSG/Ayre. I want him back - i just dont think its going to happen. Tompkins alluded to there being contact, but Andy Heaton (who apparently has a very good contact re Rafa) has said there has been none from either FSG or Rafa.

Good post, if news starts leaking soon that they dont go for AVB (who I can see why they would be interested in) then its definitely a anyone but Rafa approach from Ayre FSG. TBH it already sounds like that with them approaching Martinez (unbelievable).

Just seen this article on ESPN - by Harry Harris so take with a large dose of salt The bit re AVB being interviewed this weekend is new, I havent heard that before. Plus the bit about Rafa only being approached as a second choice candidate annoys me greatly...I have seen that reported in a few places so I expect its being leaked from Ayre...wa**er ESPN
