Klopp always complained that he didn't have enough time with the players on the training pitch because of the tight schedule. Quite the contast to Slot who doesn't seem bothered with that at all. It's so strange considering how under-coached we've looked this season. Watching that Villa performance and thinking a break is more important than drilling some shape into this team is mad to me.

Imagine how fat an unfit version of him would look for us after training under Slot all season. But yes, very good player. Drives me mad. There was one where Villa had a counter but we fouled them in midfield. All of ours just stopped running instead of getting back behind the ball while Villa players sprinted forward. So when Villa took the free kick, half our team was still out of position. Never seen anything like it.

Agreed. I lean towards giving most of these players time under a new manager but it's not unfair to say we lack quality all over the pitch. We don't have a top goalkeeper when Alisson leaves. We don't have a single top quality full back. Konate has been way below par and might leave on a free. Midfield needs work. And we don't have a single top class wide forward. And that's without getting into whether Isak can get himself fit enough. That's a lot more than you can do in one summer so hopefully a new manager will get more out of the squad. Wide forwards are an absolute must though.

Apparently Gakpo had his first touch after 41 minutes. Is that actually true? Absolutely insane if so.

2nd half was ok by our current standards but that first half performance was inexplicable. Early goal but instead of riding the momentum, we just stood off them. No idea why Slot thought that would work for 84 minutes when we're so poor at it. He just can't help himself. Chelsea are awful and after the early goal we should have battered them. But no. Revert to type.

Gakpo shouldn’t be offside there.
