He’s been a really good signing and has the tools to be a top player. But there’s been a few too many performances like last night where his touch is off and he makes too many poor decisions. He’s firmly in the “least of our worries” category though and he’s another one I can’t wait to see with better wide forwards. The fitness thing is weird but hopefully he’ll benefit from having Isak back. When ever that is.

His work rate and pressing is always really good. Almost nicked the ball twice in good positions yesterday but the ref gave Sunderland soft free kicks. He’s often the only one pressing high up as Gakpo and Salah don’t press much. Add a wide forward or two like Diaz/Mane who will join the press and it‘ll make a big difference. Use Wirtz to trigger the press like Lallana and Bobby used to do under Klopp.

Decent enough from us but the lack of any threat from wide areas makes us look toothless. Salah and Gakpo just don’t look like scoring. Still feels like a goal will come if we keep going 2nd half but it’s not often we play two attacking halfs of football.

We haven’t scored in the first 40 mins in the league since Brighton in mid December but an early goal tonight to kill the atmosphere a bit would be good.

Last night’s results opened the door for us. It would be great if we could get a win with a convincing performance. Replicate what we did for 30 mins against City but do it for 90. Big ask as we’ve only done it in bursts all season. Would put us right back in it. Their home record is really good though so not feeling confident.

Completely agree. He’s been awful this season but the coach is the only one who has to sit there in front of the press twice a week when things are bad while the higher ups who make the big football decisions get to hide in the back and slip notes to their mates in the press when ever it suits. It’s poor. Felt sorry for Klopp several times when he had to sit there and defend the club after yet another failed window where he just didn’t get the backing he deserved. He was always loyal to the club and backed the players he had. Slot’s obviously a different animal and it’s not pretty.
