If Wirtz has hamstring problems, I don't think he'll play. Sounds like he wasn't fully fit for the Leeds game. Only trained once according to Slot.

This is the most baffling aspect of our approach for me. In this league, every side is well drilled if you allow them time to get set. By playing slowly and without risk, we actually bring the best out of most teams. We rarely look to exploit transitions or catch teams before they’re organised. Instead, we recycle possession, move the ball backwards and sideways, let them drop into a low block with 11 men behind the ball, and then cross our fingers for a moment of individual brilliance to break them down.

Someone posted a clip on reddit of Leeds playing through our "press". The space between the forwards and midfield was insane. And it still only took one pass to play through our entire midfield. Acres of space everywhere and no team pressing. Wirtz is actually quite good at it. Make him the trigger.

He's been one of the few positives this season but it's slightly concerning that he looks leggy after 50-60 minutes. Especially now that he's our only striker. There's still flashes of quality but he runs out of steam early in the 2nd half almost every game. He's not the only one, mind. It's probably a season of getting used to the physicality of the league for him.

79 mins. Bradley off. Move Frimpong to right back. 84 mins. Frimpong off. Move Szoboslai to right back Three different players at right back in less than 10 minutes. And it's not the first time he's done that.

Ekitike has looked goosed this half.

Not often we face teams that leave so much space behind their cb’s. But Ekitike not really attacking that area so far.

The goal was while he was still at right back wasn’t it? Think he faded a bit when Bradley came on but might have been fitness. Probably doesn’t have 90 mins in him yet.

The cut back for the goal was really good. Going at full speed and still showing the composure to find Gravenberch. Wasn't an easy ball. Two games on the bounce now where he's created a goal with his pace. Hopefully he can stay fit now because we need what he brings to our attack.

The thought of us trying to defend their corners is the stuff of nightmares. Then again, we defended 8 of them when we beat them in august.

Aye, that pass back to Konate was so weird. His decision making is poor a lot of the time but atleast he tried to attack on the outside of the full back a fair bit. Definitely the way to go with him.

Konate ballsing up an easy touch in the last minute of the 1st half was like a f***ing premonition. Conceding early from a corner and the subsequent panic felt so predictable. This team just doesn't do control and composure. It's a big concern and it's the reason why it doesn't feel like we've turned a corner despite going from losing every week to unbeaten in 7. We manage to hang on now which is nice but all the weaknesses are still there. Positives were Wirtz and Frimpong. The pace of Frimpong is a really important weapon for us because of how slow we are. He wasn't as good when he was moved to the wing but from full back he did really well. Ekitike and Jones both showed glimpses of brilliance mixed in with some poor stuff.

How can we be outnumbered everywhere on the pitch!?

Was always likely that we let them back in by conceding a soft goal. Big test how we react to this now. Come on, reds.

Ffs. We’re so so bad at defending set pieces.

Frimpong showing how important pace is. We need more of that. And a brilliant cut back. Wirtz has been great. Ekitike was good for the goal. Would be nice if we add a few goals in the 2nd half instead of letting them back in it.
