If Lampard was taking the last minute penalty in the same situation for England, I'd probably be screaming at the TV "Come on you useless chav bar steward, you better not ,miss you chav danish king" etc etc etc, probably in a very abusive manner but I would 100% want him to score and be made up if he did. How were these Italians after he'd scored yesterday? Were they gutted or well chuffed Italy had won?

For the record, I sit with plenty of Europeans in my office and deal with European football fans on the telephone all day long, and all of them to a man, regardless of the team they support, badly want their relevant teams to wion the WC - Spanish, German, Italians and Dutch.

It depends what these people who invest are getting for their money, surely? Who in their right minds would invest say 100 million if they are not getting anything worthwhile back out of it? I don't see how anyone would invest enough to build a new stadium if they didn't get majority shareholding with it.

I had a conversation today with one of Michael Owen's agents who categorically told me that Owen didn't want to leave LFC but was forced out because Parry and board didn't want him and offer him a contract - kept stalling. Didn't sound right to me and I am taking it with a huge pinch of salt, but when I stated the MO nort sigbning the contract and stalling etc he was adqamant that it wasn't like that. Apparently Owen was in tears when we didn't offer Madrid enough to take him back and he'd walk over broken glass (well obviously not now) to come back. First part doesn't sound right at all to me but thought I'd post it anyway.

Agree completely. Rafa is cutting his cloth accordingly and is not spending much of a net outlay as yet. If he was suddenly spending 30 million net then the money would be coming from somewhere and Parry would have found it. You can't compare Israel's flag with the Swatika. That was a flag of a olitical party and if indeed it was the German flag, the old one had been replaced by it (not sure that it was though). Israel's flag is just that - the flag of a country and not a political party.

That's a good formation, but maybe better with Cole in Lampard's place and put Rooney behind Crouch. It looks like Sven like previous England managers, may fall into his best line-up/formation due to Owen's injury - more by luck than judgement.

Yep, I noticed that. Like him saying to himsel;f, "wtf can't I do that". I thought Hargreaves, along with J. Cole, was England's best player last night.
