bit off topic but mate of mine used to work at a skool just outside leeds during the o'leary 'glory' day/s, they'd always offer him a few tickets for games. he'd dole them out to the hardcore nutters if they'd done something 'good' like come to class or/and not beaten/shot somebody. on at least one occasion, for a euro game, they gave him hundreds - their thinking was get the ground full and brainwash the youth. most of the tickets ended up with adult relatives though!

my first visit to anfield. Got seven tax exile in breds with me too. Where to drink and soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere?

our movement in the final third was disappointing until the last 10 or so yesterday. only gerrard seemed to be trying to get beyond the last man and turn the midfield/defence. yossi kept drifting in and dirk/babel dropping back too far = no shape/penetration & congestion. couple that with momo/carra/hyppia/risse playing poorly & without confidence then perhaps a poor stalemate was inevitable. confidence is lacking and rafa, i feel, needs to aim for more settled XI to try and achieve that. injury may be hampering that. i'm not having that idea he can't win the league. his vision of football is like that of tramp/prof yaffel and relies on incisive, quick passing to drag teams out of shape, particularly around the oppo box. it seemed a consistent in his valencia tictacs. there's no way he sends out his XI and says pass it around the halfway line and back till i've made some subs @ 70 mins.
