Play like we did at City and we're fine. They're good going forward but not as good as City, and they're defence is v get-at-able.

It’s a huge mistake only if we don’t finish in the top 4, I would say.If we achieve top 4, then Klopp’s judgement (assuming it’s his decision and he’s waiting for the right time/player to add to the squad) will be validated. For what it’s worth I think the risk is too great not to add to our squad in this window, but we are quite capable of top 4 if players we’ve got perform.

Good to know, I haven't seen much of him so was genuinely unsure if he was that type of player rather than sceptic.

What we would miss most if he goes is his ability to play the perfect through ball, to find space and create something against packed defences. Replacement should be someone with similar strengths, a no.7 rather than 9,10/11 (in old money). Not sure if Lemar fits that mould.

It wasn't me, though that bloke could've been channeling a few of us muttering something similar... In retrospect Houghton was a good player in a great team, and suffered by comparison with the rest of the front six. He really used to wind me up at the time though...

I was never a huge fan of Houghton so you'll find no argument here...

Just sinking in for me. Putting it in perspective for my little mind: if we'd been offered the option of Klopp as manager or signing Messi, I'd have gone with the Kloppster without hesitation. Could be big for us this.

Indeed, Henderson too I guess. Just seems like we have suddenly realised shifting out our best DM may not be a great move, which many on here have been saying for weeks. True could be, and wouldn't blame him, Brendan seems to have been lukewarm on Lucas for a while now.

If it's accurate, this is a little concerning. On Monday Lucas in a way did no more or less than we, and presumably Rodgers, know him to be capable of - deliver a good defensive midfield performance: So nothing's changed there. If it's due to Henderson's injury, then prior to that we would have been one injury away from wanting to have Lucas available, which must have been obvious to Rodgers too. So I can't quite see the logic of suspending the move at this point (although I'm glad if he's not going).

Not sure that's wise unless we have a replacement coming in before window closes. Despite Can's abilities and performance when he came on yesterday, Lucas is our only experienced DM.

He certainly didn't look out of plaice when he came on.
