World class player.. its a term usually attached to a special player..

But how many do you think we have... ?

Obviously Gerrard is a world class player.. do we have anymore??

IMO i'd say alonso and hyypia and carra should be classed as a world class player also.. Maybe Morientes of a couple of years ago also..

Gerrard, alonso are world class, that's it. Others are getting there or just very bloody consistant.

No Carragher...???

Finnan is world class.

Fact.

:)

i struggle to think of many better right-backs than finnan. if any, truth be told. he's so bloody consistent.

Carra is not world class, his distribution is poor and he doesnt score enough goals. He's a bloody good defender though!

stuff world class players! we need super class players, such players have the ability to lead a team to victory by themselves!

e.g.

Ronaldinho

Henry

Gerrard etc..

I think a world class player is one that any side in the world would want/have in their team, more or less every week.

I think that means, from LFC, you're talking Gerard, Alonso and possibly Carragher. There's a case for Reina and Hyypia, but I don't think the wider football world would accept them as being 'world class'.

I think Momo is going to be 'world class'.

imo 'world class' means good enough to fit into any side in the world, club or country

Yep. Beat me to it.

He is very consistent, but his level is definitely not 'world class'. Looking back through our right backs, I think Steve Nicol and Rob Jones were far better than Finnan.

I'm not quite sure what the definition of "world class" is, but if it includes scoring goals when discussing a CB, then something is very wrong

To me, world class means consistently in the top 10 in his position in the world.

So that means Gerrard, Alonso and Hyypia. Carra just about there, I need more time on Reina. Finnan also thereabouts.

The term world class gets handed out to anyone these days, the only world class player we have is Gerrard. The word legend is another word handed out to who ever now adays.

So you don't think Alonso's world class?

What does the term mean to you then...?

a world class player is someone that any club in the world would let walk straight into their first team i.e barca, madrid?, milan, juve, bayern and even chelski, manure and arsenhole.

gerrard is deffinatly 1 and i'd carra also, alonso is close but not there yet, as with finnen. shame raffa didn't arrive a few seasons earlier as we would he'd be in there, 1 more season like this one and i'd call him world class. shame his getting on a bit now.

lets hope kromkamp learns all he can from the leagues top right back.

i think finnan has surpassed rob jones now. but nicol was freakishly good.

i can't think of any right-backs who are noticeably better than finnan, in england or in europe.
