His linesman screwed him by disallowing two italian goals vs Croatia which were in fact, legitimate goals.

Are basing that on a belief that given the size of his ego then he wont want to be seen as being intimidated by Mourinho and his cronies ?

 

That is the only positive I can see from it TBH, though I am grateful that its not Dowd

He is IMO the best English ref bar none so it makes sense he gets the game.

The thing that bothers me about "The Thing From Tring" is why didn't he award a penalty against Terry at the bridge against Fulham earlier this season when he charged down a Collins John (?) shot and made a blinding save with his arms. I just cant understand why he didn't give the pen when he saw it plain as day.

 

It's bothering me.

Poll was the ref for the Anfield league game wasn't he?

 

I remember saying before it, the only thing Poll would need to do to ensure he was in the papers the next day and to stir up controversy would be to give Chelsea a penalty...

 

To be fair it was a cast iron foul, but all the same it struck me as ironic that I called it right.
