Cunny Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/4831306.stm Bruce vows to carry on as manager Birmingham boss Steve Bruce believes he is the right manager to turn the club's season round after his side were humiliated by Liverpool in the FA Cup. "I'll analyse myself but I want to turn it round," said a shell-shocked Bruce, after Liverpool's 7-0 victory. "I'm not going to take anything for granted and questions will be asked. "The Board have always been good to me, but I still think I'm the right person to see it through. The one thing I am is resilient and I'll need to be." Bruce added that the defeat was the worst he had suffered in 25 years as a player and a manager. "Sometimes football kicks you in the teeth - and certainly that is the biggest one I have taken," the Birmingham manager added. "You are just shell-shocked; in the end it was men against boys."
Nebraska Red Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 'in the end it was men against boys' he's taking things a bit far, boys would have put up a bit of a fight today.
Romario Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Saw his interview. Didn't think he said much wrong to be honest.
Mike Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 when it started it was men against boyswhen it finished it was gods against gimps
RedMarauder Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 INTERVIEWER: So Steve, what went wrong?BRUCE : f***, f***, f***, f***ety, f***. f***y, f***y, f***, f***................. I think I've made myself clear. Good night
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I think a YNWA forumite select XI would have beaten Birmingham
Andy Mac Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 "Sometimes football kicks you in the teeth - and certainly that is the biggest one I have taken," the Birmingham manager added. The teeth? I think Bruce will find the ( seven) kicks were delivered to an altogether more sensitive part of his anatomy. Loved to the way our fans compounded the hurt by chanting "Steve Bruce he's got a big fat 'ed"
Benitez Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 At least Bruce faced the media straight after the game! I'm sure a fair few would have shirked that one
Ratters Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Came across quite well in his interview he generally cared you could see very sad in some ways its nice to win but to see I man that upset was quite shock to the system for me. I never though i would say I liked Steve Bruce but i think i do shame about his past. But well done our men we will have a differant game at the weekend though
Falconhoof Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 If it wasn't for his big fat contract payout he'd have walked out on them ages ago. Ex Manc, s**** manager, never to be seen again in this league hopefully.
