I've just realised in conversation why I am

It's the thought of getting knocked out by Benfica.

Pound for pound we are the better team, if the strikers start to score then we can overturn this.

Tonight's result will depend on the forwards. If they score, we'll go through.

Yeah, I know. The thought of getting knocked out of this competition by a team inferior to us is sickening. Also, as I said elsewhere, all the w*****s will come out with 'now its been proven they were lucky to win it last year' etc.

When I read the Sky report of the first game it said something like 'Liverpool's grip on the European Cup was loosened' and I hated reading that! I'm really concerned they're going to score a jammy deflection or great free kick. I think we'll play extremely well today though and hopefully blow them away.

Agreed. But are we not all feeling the same things as we were against Olympiakos last year..? We showed that we were the better team and that we could overturn anything reasonable thrown at us. We should NEVER go into any game with arrogance, we've all seen what happens to Chelski when that happens. What we SHOULD do is go into a game like this with confidence in ourselves and expect us as supporters to do just that and support the lads tonight.

We'll win tonight, but it won't be easy. But, we'll win..!

Oh, to come out of the traps like Juventus at Anfield last year, something like that mental blitz.

Scared the feck out of them, we didn't need forwards scoring then, there was no way the ball wasn't going in the net and bloody fast too.

Off to the ground now.

Don't forget persistant standing spoils it for other fans especially those with young children ;)

we came out of the traps on Sat - the first 20-30 mins were fantastic. The 2nd half was garbage though.

We need to demoralize Benfica. It wasn't uncommon for us to be trailing going into a home leg under Bob Paisley & to triumph. Rafa's a master, he & we are more than capable tonight

2-1 the final score though. Not good enough tonight!

They play on the counter attack and will be prepared for an onslaught. It's just a matter of converting whatever chances come along. No problem then

touch of over-confidence here. if they beat us fair and square then we should acknowledge that.

on paper juventus were infinitely better than us last season, didn't stop us outplaying them.

bit of respect for opponents eh?

whatever.

Lets batter these c*nts

Hear, hear!

I'll raise you an innocent geographical adjective.

Let's batter these Portuguese c*nts.

Is the right answer. But you forgot "portugese". You gotta personalise the battering.

:hmm: You can't expect me to see it if it ain't spelt right.
