New York Red Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Lampard has pulled out of the game tomorrow due to a "tight hamstring". What a lot of b*llocks. Stevie's played for more games than him and yet Stevie has to soldier on. P*sses me off man.
Ombudsam Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Which player has banged on about how he wants to play in this game even after he was told what his manager said. They all hate us don't they

I'd put money on it that Lampard isn't even injured (he hasn't missed a game in YEARS due to injury)He's decided to put his club before a stupid friendly that's all. I wish Gerrard would do the same especially after actually picking up a knock but he reckons he's fine. If he breaks down in a week or two then Rafa should fine him for being unprofessional.
Redwire Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Stevie's played for more games than him and yet Stevie has to soldier on. Apparently Gerrard and Lampard have both played 44 games but Lampard has played 3832 minutes compared to Gerrard's 3503 minutes.
Nebraska Red Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 i really wish that we could give give up on this "playing for your country is evil, and it's all a conspiracy against Liverpool" cr@p. Gerrard has made it clear that he wants to play for his country and will do so unless he is injured and unable to play. If he was genuinely hurt the club would refuse to let him play in the game and would just allow him to be with the squad. Any attempt by the club to put restrictions on his playing for England would put them at loggerheads with the player, a no win situation for both parties. If other players, and their clubs, are not playing by the rules, we should let the FA deal with those matters. Playing for their country obviously means alot to these players and the risk of injury is one we will all have to just put up with.
Cobs Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 This season Lampard 36 starts + 2 sub appearances Gerrard 37 starts + 4 sub appearances it's, it's, it's like Gerrard is being flogged like a lazy horse while Fat Lampturd is rested all the time..... it's not fair...... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm gonna tell my mummy.....
anny road Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Apparently Gerrard and Lampard have both played 44 games but Lampard has played 3832 minutes compared to Gerrard's 3503 minutes. eh

anny road Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 it's him who wants to play i never said he doesnt it doesnt mean it isnt better for him to rest instead of playing a meaningless freindly Of course Gerrard wants to play
Ombudsam Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 i never said he doesnt it doesnt mean it isnt better for him to rest instead of playing a meaningless freindly Of course Gerrard wants to play it's just that the whole premise of the thread was that everyone was out to get us and look after chelsea. Makes us look like idiot. I'm an england fan but i agree with you that i want gerrard rested but the kid wants to play and he has the final say.

Jonesy Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 break down from todays mirror Lampard APPS/MINS PLAYED Prem : 26/2340 CL : 7/630 FA : 3/214 CC : 1/60 Eng : 6/503 TOTAL : 44/3832 C.Shield : Gerrard Prem : 24/2095 CL (inc qualifiers) : 11/635 FA : 3/260 CC : 1/90 Eng : 5/423 TOTAL : 44/3503 Not that this proves anything!!
Falconhoof Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 I'm glad Sven has his priorities straight and is resting this world class player
Cobs Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 that'll be Sven you chelsea twuntI was going with the obvious conspiracy that Mourinho told Lampard to feign injury to remove himself from the squad and Rafa has neglected to do the same with Stevie, son.....
Ombudsam Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 no he doesnt..the manager has the final say why didn't he just feign an injury. It's down to our end to sort it out if we don't want him to play
nd Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 What f***s me off about this is that Lampard knows he could put on five stone, have a gender swap operation, and change his name to Ulrikka - and he would still have an automatic England place under Erikssonovich. Whereas Gerrard, if he has a brain, must realise that with everyone* wondering if he and Lampard can play together in the England central midfield he maybe has to show that bit more willing. If he was 100% assured a starting place no matter what - like the two tarts, Beckham and Lampard - then he might be a bit less gung-ho on the old "must play for Ingerlund" stuff. The simplest explanation is that he actually wants to play. But I do think there's some pressure there. * i.e. the poncey, biased, Southern-based, Liverpool-hating football media.

Superb work.
