OK, here are some more myths:

 

1) Michael Owen didn't intentionally run down his contract so he could have more "options".

2) Michael Owen finished every chance he was ever presented

3) Signing Michael Owen would automatically add 25 goals to our tally

4) Money is not an issue in this negotiation at all

 

Somehow in his absence his abilities have become larger than life and his actions regarding the move have been swept aside.  He's obviously a great player that did great things for us but get a grip.  If the move happens, it happens. If not, it's not some massive error in judgement by Rafa.

He's a better goalscorer than any of our other forwards. By some distance.

 

That's the only salient point, IMO.
