Flight Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 http://www.express.co.uk/football/view/364041/Why-Liverpool-are-now-in-good-shape f***ing mockers.
muleskinner Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 http://www.express.co.uk/football/view/364041/Why-Liverpool-are-now-in-good-shapeinteresting stuff, clearly thinks deeply about all aspects of the game and yet he is being called all sorts of s**** on here from a spoofer to sitting on his laurels thinking he has made it.
JonShar Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 interesting stuff, clearly thinks deeply about all aspects of the game and yet he is being called all sorts of s**** on here from a spoofer to sitting on his laurels thinking he has made it. That's because people are c**** sometimes.
Billy Dane Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 To be pedantic isn't the praise due to Driscoll rather than Rodgers, who does deserve credit for appointing him? Success at the club is down to teamwork.
JRC Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 To be pedantic isn't the praise due to Driscoll rather than Rodgers, who does deserve credit for appointing him? Success at the club is down to teamwork. And Rogers has put that team together, and decides how much influence and responsibility the individuals have; and Driscoll in the article goes out of his way to praise how committed Rogers is to the principles.
Billy Dane Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 As I said Rodgers is due credit for appointing Driscoll, but the praise for keeping players fit is due to Driscoll.
Leo No.8 Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 interesting stuff, clearly thinks deeply about all aspects of the game and yet he is being called all sorts of s**** on here from a spoofer to sitting on his laurels thinking he has made it. Do people not like Rodgers then? I think he's boss.

Its difficult but you have to accept that there as some Liverpool fans who, if Brendan Rogers came up with a the secret of ever lasting life, they'd complain that he was putting undertakers out of business.
mooks Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Its difficult but you have to accept that there as some Liverpool fans who, if Brendan Rogers came up with a the secret of ever lasting life, they'd complain that he was putting undertakers out of business.Ha ha! Good point. I have to admit that, results aside, I've got mixed feelings about him. For example, I just don't like his goal celebration. Whereas Rafa reacted with focused concentration and Kenny with unbridled joy Brendan silently raises his fist like he's just scored match point at Wimbledon when all that's happened is we've scored in the first 15 minutes at West Ham. Yes, it's petty in the bigger scheme of things, but I'm being honest that I find it a bit difficult to relate to him. Back to the main point the change in training intensity seems to be paying huge dividends and is something that seems obvious in hindsight. Giant kudos to Brendan for implementing it.
Gomez Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 interesting stuff, clearly thinks deeply about all aspects of the game and yet he is being called all sorts of s**** on here from a spoofer to sitting on his laurels thinking he has made it. Just because he thinks deeply about the game doesn't mean he comes to the right conclusions, just like having a good philosophy doesn't mean he can implement it. However, not being too negative, that is a good article and does offer some hope that we are getting it right behind the scenes for the first time since Rafa. One question would be the injuries to Lucas and Borini though, both of which, from the outside, looked to have been avoidable, or at least detectable earlier than they were, and therefore maybe their severity could have been lessened.

Not sure his team were in place when Lucas got hurt. Borini was a metatarsal, sometimes that's just bad luck
Gomez Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Not sure his team were in place when Lucas got hurt. Borini was a metatarsal, sometimes that's just bad luck Thought Driscoll came a week after BR? Yep, Borini's metatarsal was bad luck, but we didn't notice it did we? We sent him off on international duty and they sent him back, supposedly p*ssed off because we sent them an injured player. Not sure of the full details, but it didn't sound like we were on top of it.

Gomez Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 I thought he injured himself training with Italy U-21's? As I say, it's unclear what really happened, but it does appear to be not straight forward.DomKing

Gerry Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 mooks is proper weird though. This is the person who thought it odd people hated Man U more than Chelsea.
Dan Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 For? Desperate to have a little unnecessary dig.

He is doing those things. Some of the comments aimed at him are just bizarre, usually coming from the position of him not being Rafa Benitez or Kenny Dalglish and not grounded in any sort of reality.
mooks Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Desperate to have a little unnecessary dig.Right, like this you mean? "Back to the main point the change in training intensity seems to be paying huge dividends and is something that seems obvious in hindsight. Giant kudos to Brendan for implementing it." Desperate to have a little unnecessary dig.And far from being an unnecessary little dig I was addressing the fact that many fans, including myself, are finding it hard to connect with Brendan. Starting from that fact I was looking for reasons and one of them may be that he comes across as a tad arrogant. Hardly rocket science.

Its proper f***ing weird lad. He punches the air. What more do you want?
