Regarding Carroll , i would prefer for him to move on as he most def is not in BR's plans , i'm just not sure that Newcastle are goinmg to stump up the cash . Hopefully they do though . Which may mean the arrival of a certain dutch forward .

I just see him dropping behind Coates in the pecking order this season, just feel we want two ball playing defenders at the back rather than one stopper and one ball playing one.

Coates is far more comfortable in possesion.

 

Got the makings of another Sami there as he develops. Not that Skrtel is poor - they have to defend first and foremost and he's doing fine on that front, one abberation aside.

Skrtel signed a new long term contract about 10 days ago because he has been fantastic for 18 months and the Manager rates him highly. A couple of mistakes doesn't change that and certainly doesn't make him 3rd choice CB any time soon.

This is why I think we might see a back three and only two centre mids. Shelvey and Henderson nailed on to start. Carragher and Coates the same. Reina as well. Highly likely Downing starts somewhere. Beyond those six it is a mess.
