CarraLegend Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Hopefully some of that team either wont be here or wont be playing due to moves the next day. Get Sterling sat up at home, he's got the hapless Carl Jenkinson to mess around with on Sunday.
Sion Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 ReinaKelly Carra Coates Jack Jay Adam. ShelveyHendo. Carroll. Downing Jones, Flanagan, Skrtel, Allen, Morgan, Sterling, Stevieboring and s*** that side. We've wasted so many good chances in the past couple of years to play an exciting cup side, hope we don't just play a team of established fringe players who aren't good enough. Hopefully Jay, Adam, Carroll at least will all be on the way out. And no new signings can play, so hopefully we'll see a few youngsters - who will be buzzing and eager to impress after seeing Sterling.
RafaShanks Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Morgan should start this. Thought he should have been brought on much earlier in the 1st game. Carroll won't be playing if he's moving. Borini needs to be rested.

It's a difficult balance, if Hearts nick a goal we are in a battle. The likes of Adam and Spearing will do a job for this and allow us to protect key players for Arsenal.

He only got a one game ban, he'll play against Arsenal Basically if Carroll plays in this we're f***ed as it means he is staying.

If Agger doesnt start , then Coates is the obvious other to player . Regarding Carroll , i would prefer for him to move on as he most def is not in BR's plans , i'm just not sure that Newcastle are goinmg to stump up the cash . Hopefully they do though . Which may mean the arrival of a certain dutch forward .
baja the hut Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Did Skrtel get an improved deal recently? I just see him dropping behind Coates in the pecking order this season, just feel we want two ball playing defenders at the back rather than one stopper and one ball playing one.

Coates isn't in anyway more comfortable on the ball than Skrtel. Skrtel's just fine
baja the hut Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Coates isn't in anyway more comfortable on the ball than Skrtel. Skrtel's just fine sorry dude, you're wrong there.
StevieC Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Coates isn't in anyway more comfortable on the ball than Skrtel. Skrtel's just fine Coates is far more comfortable in possesion. Got the makings of another Sami there as he develops. Not that Skrtel is poor - they have to defend first and foremost and he's doing fine on that front, one abberation aside.

You write some bizarre stuff but this is right up there
Case Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Skrtel signed a new long term contract about 10 days ago because he has been fantastic for 18 months and the Manager rates him highly. A couple of mistakes doesn't change that and certainly doesn't make him 3rd choice CB any time soon.
Knox_Harrington Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 t*** of a team to predict given the likely moves and eligibility question. Wouldn't surprise me if Carroll stays and plays but still moves. Kelly - Carra - Coates - Robinson---- Hendo - Allen - Jonjo ----- Downing - Carroll - Sterling - First sub Allen, second Sterling. Back three wouldn't surprise me either.
growler Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I'd like us to try Kelly in the middle and give Morgan a run out. I would play reina too, needs some form and dominance back. Probably Robinson too.
Kermit Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Im torn on Sterling starting this. Part of me thinks he should get a game against lesser opposition, the other part thinks that he should be starting against Arsenal.

I'm going with : -Kelly-----Carragher---Coates---Enrique ------------------Henderson -------------Shelvey--------Adam -Downing--------Carroll------Suso/Pacheco/someother wild card God knows what sort of team we'll put out of Adam, Spearing, Carroll and Pacheco and in the midst of moves. We'd have no choice but to be playing the likes of Allen, Sterling and Borini.

Carragher and Coates the same. Reina as well. Highly likely Downing starts somewhere. Beyond those six it is a mess.

Kermit Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Not sure on Shelvey - I know we have to play someone but if Shelvey is needed for the Arsenal game he could easily start on the bench.
sutty Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Not sure on Shelvey - I know we have to play someone but if Shelvey is needed for the Arsenal game he could easily start on the bench. I'm assuming Sahin starts against Arsenal with Gerrard & Allen
Earl Hafler Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Anyone know if our quota of 25 players has been filled ? Sahin can play if not.
Hassony Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Anyone know if our quota of 25 players has been filled ? Sahin can play if not. he can't , as we didn't sign him before the first leg or something
