Gerrard

[Bogman]

LFC can today confirm that Steven Gerrard has undergone successful surgery on his groin and will be out for up to four weeks.

The decision was made following consultation with a specialist.

[Sion]

Back for EL 1/4 1st leg then hopefully, if we get there that is.

[Alonso]

Looks like he'll miss Braga (H), Sunderland (A), WBA (A) and back hopefully for the Man City game on 11th April.

[CarraLegend]

Not arsed about the league, they're just glorified friendlies now anyway, just get him fit for Europe if possible.

[Hassony]

if we're out of europe by the time he comes back, I'd be inclined to give him the rest of the season off

[Dan]

Not too bad then. Glad he's had the surgery.

[Coyler]

Ah good news. Hopefully this is the end of it now. Tend to agree with Hassony about giving him the season off if we f*ck up against Braga, or at least drastically reducing his appearances.

why? we need to finish as high as possible in the league, he hasn't got a tournament to go to so he can rest then.

we should have enough to finish 6th, can't see us finishing any higher or lower now

[Sir Tokyo Sexwale]

dunno how much difference it makes, but would have been better to have had it at the start of the week...but they were probably juggling then

[domlfc]

At long last, this should have been done ages ago. Not bothered about this season now, just get him firing for next season when we can have a proper go at the league without the delightful Woy at the helm.

negatives in all this:

Christian Poulsen.

We really did miss out on Adam in January.

[Big Red Machine]

I'd imagine it would mean dropping Meireles back deeper and playing Maxi/Suarez/Kuyt as a three behind Carroll.

[FirstDescent]

Is this his third time under the knife with groin problems?

Im gonna be amazed if he plays football at 33.
