Who on here agrees with the transfer window? when it was first introduced people were against it but after this summer I am definitely for it, I would hate the Alonso and Masch speculation all year round. Plus it stops Man City and Chelsea buying their way to success, thoughts?

keying error.

don't worry the other two lads aren't that bright - the rest of us know what you mean.

I'm pretty much for it the only negative can be if you are unlucky enough to get alot of injuries in one position toy can be screwed. for example at the mo if Nando and Kuyt were out we're fuvked.

The other really annoying thing is the SLy Sports 24 hour countdown thing - talk about over hyped even for them.

I think the transfer window has its good and bad points.

I also think that the 'cuptied' ruling should be scrapped if the window is staying. The Cuptied ruling was only brought it to stop clubs buying players when they reach the later stages of the cups. This cannot happen now so it should be scrapped.

Fowler would have won another FA Cup medal, Morientes would have won a CL medal etc, all because they played in the third round and a qualifier respectively.

I agree with the transfer window. I don't think teams should be able to buy new players and bring them into their teams midseason.

For that reason, I think the January transfer window should be scrapped.

Dont agree with that, imagine not being able to replace your more influential players if they are out on a long term injury.

I can imagine it very easily. This is not a good reason for retaining the January transfer window.

There's no reason why clubs should have an automatic right to replace their most influential players.

The rich clubs would then be in the same position as the clubs who can't afford to replace their more influential players.

No they dont have a right, but they are in a position to do so because of the years of getting it right, so should be able to.

If you want fairness, then we should adopt a transfer policy like in the States, were the worst team gets the best player each year.

Agreed.

Harry Redknapp would be crashed if the January transfer window were to be scrapped. All the more for it, then.

But then the rich clubs would then have even larger and larger squads to cover for such eventualities penalising the less well off clubs in a different way.

you could try to limit squad sizes in addition
