I sent a letter to him once asking if he could read out a dedication at half time - he had already announced Bootser Jnrs name at his first match, George took tyhe time to write back saying that the club didn't allow dedications anymore. I thought him a very decent spud for taking the time to do that.

 

Thought it was a s*** decision by the club mind.

Just out of curiosity as George is back from the hospital and alright.

 

Who would take over his duties in a pinch if he couldn't make it to a match for some reason? Surely the club have a backup announcer.
