Molby Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 ok that's us done for the year would love to say great effort but it simply doesn't feel that wayhad we disptached the wide open City today then maybe we could have looked forward to Rafa's grinding machine kicking on from here but alas it looks as if we're as far away as ever so back to the main event: YANKS OUT!!!!!! maybe with a few quid to spend we could mount a challenge next year in the new stadium* *borrowed from a traditional Jewish saying at the end of every synagogue service over the last 2000 years or more, a yearning for a home of our own here's hoping it wont be that long til we get our new home
Benzo-13 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) Yep, its Yanks out all the way now.Eyes been taken off the main ball. If they'd been pushed earlier we wouldn't have ha this off-field sh**e. Weren't we "supposed" to be moving into New Anfield this summer??? Edited February 22, 2009 by Benzo-13
Swipe Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 They'll probably still be in charge of the club and we'll have the exact same summer we've had for a while now. No money and mediocre, 2nd/3rd choice players coming in.
McBain Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 We try and win the cl Then in the summer we sack everyone

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 keep plugging away. Larger gaps have been overhauled. It's not likely, but we have to keep going
gns Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I think we would look like muppets if we suddenly start protesting about the Yanks now our title challenge is over. They are not the reason we have drawn 300 games this season.

Foo Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Rafa Benitez has to instill some way to finish teams at home. It's been like this for way too long now.

Owen1978 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 (edited) too me it felt that our title challenge was over by end if Jan, but the our form from dec onwards has been horrible, the last couple of months its felt like a boxer who has been dealt a few blows and is a bit shaky on his feet, and just needed a final big punch! Barnesy_10 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 All that's left as far as fans concerned is to watch us do our best in the Chapions League, déjà vu, but at least we have that. The other thing we have left to do is watch the Mancs attempt to get the quadruple, sickens me that the league is in the bag for them so early.
gns Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Is very true and you can only rea;;y judge him when he has been allowed to manage without the c*** those two c**ts bring. Why? Ok, the Keane situation was a mess but that doesnt effect some of the tactics we have seen this season does it? They might affect the business of the club, but what happens on the field isnt influenced by them, thats Rafas domain.

Swipe Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Personally, i think Rafa should be judged on a lot of things. Not saying he should go, but he's got a few faults that don't seem to change

His tactics are largely influenced by the players available to him, those who want him judged at the end of the season should be careful what they are wishing for because in all liklihood we would end up with a far inferior manager.

There have been times when the matchday squad available hasnt meant he needed to play 2 holding midfielders at home to relegation fodder- but he CHOSE to do so. Getting transfers might influence the bigger picture, but he still has a squad that is HIS to pick from. Edited February 22, 2009 by gns
rjlfc Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 alas still, if we win every game from now on we will still probably win it how bizarrewe can actually do that, game for game Sorry mate, but we've actually got no chance of doing that, none whatsoever. So far, we've won 7 out of 13 at home (53%) and 8 out of 13 away (61%). There's not a cat in hells chance we'll have 100% record from our last 12 I'm afraid.
Keita Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 I cant see how, if the loan is called in then anyone can buy the club for whatever the loan is, maybe even less Dont think it will happen mate, the recent figures showing our financial position and the increase in the TV money is not a bad figure to use against a mortgage/loan on the club.

I completely disagree, though I dont necessarily see sacking Benitez as the only solution I could guarantee you that if he did leave there would be no shortage of world class managers willing to take the gig Whether Hicks and Gillett could ever agree on a successor is another point oh and this argument that Benitez has been deprived of a decent transfer budget is just not credible, or valid, Benitez isnt a sign your edge of the seat type player person. He buys functional grafters who follow instructions in the main Edited February 22, 2009 by Archangel

Sorry mate, Rafa has a part to play in this. It's his squad now. An awful lot of his signings are piss poor.
