floyd the barber Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 -------------van der saar----------g johnson-vidic--jagielka--clicheyireland---alonso--carrick--a young-------Agbonlahor--cahill---------- Bloody tough to pick this season...Especially in the attacking positions, hasnt really been anyone stand out....theres been lots of great performances and consistency...but no true dominator, unlike defence...where there are plenty of options.. I had to get at least one Red in there....and for me alonso has been outstanding, someone who has been vital for our decent season....Gerrard has been good, but i wouldnt say its been his best season.... Giggs has been excellent this season....so i guess its between him and ashley young for the left hand side...even though giggs now tends to play wherever required.. Milner has also been a good buy for villa....but between him and Ireland, i gotta go for ireland who has been excellent throughout. Other liverpool players who had a shot....reina,kuyt(whose form has dropped off past 2 months),carra and arbeloa.
Swipe Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) No Stevie?? He's certainly be in there for me. Edited February 20, 2009 by Swipe
Bailo Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Agbonlahor? Cahill? VDS? Clichy? Johnson? Carrick? Ireland? You've got mad son, MAAAAD!
floyd the barber Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) i guess my coment "Gerrard has been good, but i wouldnt say its been his best season...." = a good season from Gerrard would mean an exceptional season from any other player... so... you could stick gerrard in for cahill......thats wheres stevie has really stepped up, up front with the freedom Edited February 20, 2009 by Lets get Masched
floyd the barber Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 Agbonlahor? Cahill? VDS? Clichy? Johnson? Carrick? Ireland? You've got mad son, MAAAAD! Clichy has continued to be the most consistent left bk in the leagueireland has been outstanding and dont think anyone can deny or disagree with thatCarrick has been a major reason behind the mancs success this season....g johnson has really proven himself a solid right back at pompyvds - with all the different c-bk parings the mancs have had...hes been solid throughout those 5 im 100%... you might be able to make a case against the other two.. hey all about starting a discussion
sean Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Get to feck, Gerrard's been unbelievable. That team's s**** by the way.
Sion Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 BIT EARLY INNIT! You've had a mare there as wellVDS shouldn't be anywhere near it. United would have kept all their clean sheets with Carson in goal.Glen Johnson has been average as well, as has Clichyand Agbonlahor Ireland has had about 5/6 good games Jagielka is a certas are Gerrard and Alonso
_00_deathscar Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Clichy's been s*** and in what f***ing world has Giggs been 'excellent'?

Handed us a goal.
sean Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I didn't even see the Giggs thing, he's been s**** for 3 years. Beyond a mare now.
Swipe Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) All the affection and (warranted) respect for Giggs in the press seems to have evolved into certain sections pushing him forward as player of the year, which is ridiculous frankly. Evra's far better than Clichy too Edited February 20, 2009 by Swipe
Chili Palmer Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 that team was brought to you by Talksport, any red top and sky sports news.
Stevie H Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 giggs will get player of the season and it'll be more like a bloody honorary thing than anything else. like giving scorcese the oscar for the departed.
Foo Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 He's had a decent season, but player of the season he is not...

carrafan Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 GivenArbeloa Vidic Jagielka ColeDelap Alonso Carrick Gerrard YoungAnelka Think Cole has been the better left back than Clichy (whose been poor) and Evra, this season. He's looked okay when going forward and has improved defensively, and has bailed out the centrehalves more than a few times. Delap's just in there cos i couldnt think of a right midfielder who had a great impact this year. Ronaldo's not been very good (still score 11 goals mind) and was probably between him and Delap. Delap's throw ins have troubled every defense in the league and hence i went for him. Its been a very weird season this. Except for Given, Anelka, Alonso and Vidic...there arent players who are a definite for a team of a season position.
carrafan Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 delap?!?!?! His throw ins have troubled any defense equally as much as any individual player has. So why not?
