Liverpool defender Martin Kelly, 18 is today celebrating being called into the England Under-19 squad for the first time.

 

Kelly, who made his Liverpool debut in the Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven in December, is one of several new faces in coach Brian Eastick's squad for next week's friendly fixture with Spain in Bournemouth.

 

The game takes place on Tuesday night and kicks off at 7pm at the Fitness First Stadium.

 

Tom Ince was interviewed and is a very confident young lad certainly not shy in front of the camera talking very positively. Nominated U18 player of the month for January and Ablett saying that once he fills out and gets a bit stronger he'll be a very good player.

Pepper with a good chance but wide from the edge of the area. Good build up play involving Valle and Ince.

Good start by us showing pace and decent link up play and threatened with a Valle shot tipped round the post and a couple of dangerous corners.

This is easily the best youth team/squad we've had in a long time, easily. Wouldn't be surprised if at least 5/6 of them end up getting a good number of first team appearances

There does look to be a few decent players out there. Amoo has real pace about him and puts in a decent cross as well. Just as I'm typing he gives us the lead with a header 6 yards out following a defelcted Pepper cross!

Amoo with a great chance breaking in from the right but skews it wide at the near post.

Amoo has a really good touch on him and is clearly quicker and stronger than the others on the pitch, he looks a real threat and scored a good goal.

 

Bauchmann (sp?) at left back also looks really good, attacking, comfortable on the ball and a cracking left foot.

 

Future looks bright, a lot of these look better than what I have seen in the reserves.

Actually I thought the cup winning youth team was pretty good, so if this is better, I'm well chuffed

good result Chelsea are very highly thought of at this level. Saw bits of the game and we do look to have some promising young players, think Wisdom is only 15 too.

The Chelsea forward, Van Homoet (?) is a massive lad isn't he? Bloody hell, twice as big as anyone else on the pitch.

 

Or is he a forward? Might be a defender....just saw him cutting in and having a shot turned round the post by Bouzanis.
